I'd recommend printing out the TSB referenced in the post above (Infotainment Screen in 2020 Colorado LT...) and bringing it to the dealer and showing them that the version running has not been updated to the new version, they can't argue with facts but they can argue with a customer that they think is wrong with nothing else to prove otherwise.

It would also be helpful for us here on the forums if you updated your profile and/or signature to include your truck's details (Year, make, model, trim) so we can also make sure your truck falls within the years of the bulletin.
I had printed out the bulletin and gave it to them when I dropped the truck off. Doesn’t seem to have done me much good. LOL

My apologies about my truck details, I’m new here. I’ll update my profile. But it’s a 2019 Colorado LT.

Well, they may have thought they followed the process and applied the update but didn't complete it or missed a step, but as long as the radio shows it hasn't been updated and you have the bulletin to show them it's not done then they have no reason to give you any attitude, they should be quite apologetic and any issues/attitude should be directed towards the tech that didn't do the job (correctly). If they keep giving you attitude I'd ask for a manager. There's no excuse for you to be treated that way when you've done nothing wrong and just want the radio fixed correctly.

I’m just glad to know that I’m not crazy because I thought it WOULD show in the About section if they did do it correctly. So, at least I know they didn’t do it and I have hope at having this issue fixed.

At this point I might go to another dealer. It was the Service Manager that I was dealing with and he flat out denied they did the wrong ‘update’.

Thanks for the feedback/help! Much appreciated.

Not taking a side here
But, the tone of the Posts comes off as Blaming and Faulting
If that is how it is being presented to the Dealership
It could meet with resistance

Lets assume the Tech did the procedure
Problem might be that it did not complete or load into your system
So, Dealer shows it being done

So if you go in with the vehicle and show the screen..
It could help them see what is going on and figure out what happened

That is what @DieselDrax seems to be saying.
I brought photo evidence to the Dealership
In my issue, they never fully cleaned up the leaked gear oil, so it still appeared that the Axle Seal was leaking
They did a through job cleaning, brought me to show me it was fine
And Apoligised for it not being done correctly the first time

Let me clarify. I did all of the above.

I sent him an email just asking if I was correct in my understanding that V809 would show up under the About section. And then asked if that WAS correct, if there was a reason it wasn’t done (i.e my truck wasn’t eligible). I also provided the technical bulletin along with a screenshot of my truck.

The immediate response was defense. He called me and threw things out like ‘I don’t know where you are getting these version numbers from or whatever, but we did the update.’ I was told I needed to just switch to Bluetooth or try Android.

I worked for a dealership, so I understand what they are up against. I am ALWAYS respectful of the service department because their job sucks, but I don’t think he even attempted to understand my situation or look into it. That’s not acceptable. Especially after being a long time client who has patiently battled this issue with them.

Oh, these are the ones that make people HATE dealerships
You definitely need to take your business elsewhere.

I know I don't even want to go that dealership.. just hearing this

Yeah, I’m moving on. I don’t normally throw out the female card, but I have a feeling the fact that I was a woman factored into the blowing me off. I felt like I was one second away from getting a ‘now listen here, little lady’. LOL.

It is sad when that gets played
But, some people are just petty
Most important is you don't let them play you

Does this version update show in your About section of your infotainment system? I took mine in yesterday for this update and the system is still rebooting. And when I go in my About section, it is still showing v807. So, I am concerned the dealership didn’t do the correct update. Just curious what your truck shows. When I asked the dealer they got defensive and said they did the right one, but I don’t have the warm and fuzzies about their response.
It should say v809.2. If it doesn't, they didn't do the upgrade or they didn't do it right. Like Drax recommended, print out the TSB and request they do the update correctly this time. If they say they can't, go to a better dealer.

Below her avatar it says she has a 2019 Colorado LT

Edit: A little late to the party lol

Sorry for my delayed response! Mine showed version 807. But I told them I wanted the TSB shown in this thread and it’s now showing 809.2. Charged me $175 for the update. I have not had any issues since. The update did not show up when I checked updates. Hope that helps.

Brought my 22 in a month ago for update. Radio still doing the same as yours. history shows the update not done. shows version 808.1 which the truck came with. Should be version 809.2. Just dropped it off again for the update. Didn't want to accuse them of the update not getting done the first time but I did tell them I've done lots of research on this and the newest version should show up in the history. Their reply was "Ok sir, we'll look into it". Hoping it's done right today.

Update on yesterdays dealer visit. Dealer said radio won't let them update because its was done last visit. I pointed out that it still shows version 808.1. They insisted it was done. They tested it and couldn't duplicate my issues. Good thing is that they saw in the history of the ECM the last failure of the radio. Not sure if they're telling the truth though. Didn't know they can find that info. Dealer told me if it happens again they just replace the radio. I don't think they know how to fix these radios. I've got another 18 months on the 3/36 warranty so hoping its figured out before that.

Does it show the Updated Version now?
Might of been the Tech at the Dealer never did the update.
Or, the Tech did the update and it did not take

Updated version doesn’t show. Still shows version 808.1 which the truck came with. Dealer insists they updated it. Don’t know what else to do except wait for it to happen again and the dealer said they’ll replace the radio because they’re too stupid to fix the existing one.

Also.., my friend has a 21 ,mine is a 22. He went to the same dealer for update and same exact issue as me. His is version 808 because it’s a yr older. Might have to find another dealer. This one is real close to home though

Might want to call customer support and see what GM says.
Also could go to another GM Dealer and see if the can update it

I just made my appointment to update to V809 under my bumper-to-bumper warranty that ends in July 2023.
I'm going with the TSB printed, as well as prints of the screenshots posted in this thread that show the V809.2 and build number on the "About" screens of a truck that was successfully updated.
I don't want to have to fight with the dealership, or deal with a department that can't successfully do the update.
I just want it fixed and working. I'm doing everything I can to spell it out for them.
This should be so simple....
🤞🤞🤞
