One of my concerns it that it appears the seat back of the manual passenger seat doesn't tilt. That's such a basic function that even the cheapest cars have it.

And I am one that does not want nor need power seats. I am the only person that drives my truck, so I nver adjust the drivers seat, and those who get in the passenger seat can manually adjust it if needed.
I've wanted power memory for so long now. I had it in a 2022 Dodge I owned and missed it ever since. Going to clean out the truck and vacuuming or even folding the seat up at all for any reason and trying to find that right spot it was in before only to notice 3 days later it was different lol. One of my main reasons for going with these was the creature features like that. If I can set a drive mode and another mode I'll be so happy. Like, press 2 for the seat all the way up so I can vacuum out the Tootsie rolls I dropped, and 1 to return it to exactly where it was before. It's so nice.

There are a few omissions on the 23s that are inexcusable at the price point. No homelink garage door opener and no rain-sensing wipers sucks. Much cheaper cars have had those options for years.
I've personally always hated the rain sensing wipers. That is something I enjoy full control over. Auto has never been fast enough or it's too slow, especially on two lane highways with oncoming traffic where I live. That is one thing I've always disabled. My hands are always at the right position to adjust both headlights and wipers with the flick of a finger. So as long as it's simple, as usual, I'll be happy.

Never used homelink either, but I can't see a good reason to leave it out if it was something previously included.

But the overall headlight control being in the dash... Bleh. Huge downside. And hopefully they took into account that LEDs don't radiate the same heat so the DRLs might not be enough sometimes to keep that slush from accumulating. Heated elements in the housings should be standard for a lot of LED housings now days. My Tacoma has been so bad I've had to pull over and wipe the snow from it. They just don't get hot enough. But mainly I want the ability to quickly turn on/off fog lights and switch between drl/headlights manually.

I turn off the fogs for oncoming traffic most times unless it's super foggy. And hope they don't disable the fogs with high beams.

Another nice feature I recently saw that BMW offers is a rear camera washer. How cool is that? Rear cameras do great things to increase visibility along with blind spot mirrors and of course, looking lol. But they don't help much if you can't see out of them. This has been the normal for every rear camera I've ever had. It's time to consider something simple to keep them clean as a standard. It's an extra safety feature rendered useless too often.

I usually prefer the GMC or a Chevy but I do prefer the 2023 Chevy grills over 2023 Canyon grills.

My thoughts are still out on the new LED stuff... I'm seeing a disproportionately large amount of high countries and customs with either headlights or tail lights that just aren't working on the road... I know I looked into using oem ones on the 2500 (couldn't upfit an LT with them when ordering) and it was almost 3k for the pair... the factory option is obviously affordable when ordering. They are nice. The Ford has a recall on the lights not not working but starting to flicker... a well set up Halogen (not that the second gen had them) is actually still a pretty good lighting option. I have plenty of vehicles with sealed beams and I'm surprised how piss poor the stock 2nd Gen lighting is compared to what is basically 60 year old technology.

I expect the updates to be well received overall. It isn't a game changer by any means... its a step not a leap and it isn't really offering much of anything I'd want vs now and actually forcing me into a lot of things that I have no desire to have at all at this point in my life...

No 6ft option kills it. If I want a cute lifestyle car for going to the beach, there are plenty of options. Fairly good options.

Totally agree, huge pet peeve. I swapped out mirrors on my 2019, looks like I will have to do it again for 2023. They have the parts for both homelink and rain sensing wipers. Dumb.

This will be a new feature for me. I’ll be the only driver, but in addition to having two driver presets, there is also an exit mode that can be programmed/position to make exiting (vacuuming) easier.

I agree with you on the homelink, it should be there. However, I just added a homelink mirror to my '22 Canyon for $150. For the 2nd Gen trucks you do lose the OnStar buttons, but I don't use them anyway, so no loss. You can still do this option on the 3rd Gen. The mandatory OnStar subscription buttons are not in the mirror.
There is no option to add rain-sensing wipers. I don't understand how they are not standard on a Denali and an option for the rest.

I got mine for about $50 on eBay and sold the stock one for close to the same price. Easy swap out, but just no common sense. My daughters Hyundai cars for half the price have more options. Should be standard on the Denali as well as rain sensing wipers. Thankful they put memory seats in...geeze.

Unfortunately, neither of the 3rd gen exterior designs absolutely blew me away like I was hoping for, but I do think they are fine looking trucks and with the right trim and wheels look pretty good. The Canyon edges out the Colorado just a little in my book. Same with the interior. Man I love those interiors.

I still think the 2nd gen Canyon is a very good looking truck and the redesign in 2021 has really grown on me. If they had updated the interior at that time I might be in a 2021 or 2022 Canyon right now. But at this point, unless my situation changes and I decide I don't want to spend the dough on a newer truck, there's just no way I could pass over the 3rd gen with it's redesign, updated chassis, and that very torquey engine.

I wish there was a 6 ft option too, but come on. I do actually use my 2015 Colorado with the 5' 2" bed to occasionally hall things, and I do have a four-wheeler and kids gas powered go kart that just barely fits in the back (tail gate down of course) that would not fit in a Subaru or Santa Cruz or a Maverick due to the slight different in width...so it works for me. Sorry it doesn't work for you.

I think they may look better if they sloped the front back a little instead of the flat front.

but then again I like the 2000 ish F-150 instead of the flat nose from 1960's to mid 1990's and current f-150's

and Yes "rain sensing wipers" suck, hate it when they turn on and smear the other wise clean windshield, I turn them off in the wifes Jeep
if yoou cannot take your eyes off the video screen, apple android play, gauge tablet and all the other stuff ya got going on and take 2 fingers and turn the wipers on or off, you do not need to be driving, period.

I know the new Canyon is controversial in design. I personally love it but I've seen a bunch of people say they think it's ugly. My question is: Why?
I really dislike the headlights, fog lights, and surrounding trim on the new Canyon. I know they're meant to look "modern" and "aggressive" or whatever, but to me they just look weird. That was my first impression and it hasn't changed yet.

I bought a '22 Colorado recently; would definitely have waited for a '23 Colorado if saving money wasn't a priority.

I like the headlight design though it definitely isn't for everyone. The fog lights are in a great position and fairly benign, not sure why you wouldn't like that.

Between the fog lights is a space probably designed for extra airflow but it looks like it would fit a light bar perfectly. Would be really cool to see light bars integrated there.

I'm curious what it is that people don't like. I'm strongly considering the AT4X and I will admit that GMC has one of the ugliest logos in the business. It's way too huge and prominent on the grill as well as the tailgate. I wish they took cues from the Ranger and stamped "Canyon" in the tailgate and went with a smaller "GMC".

As for the AT4X interior, I thought white was a bad idea at first but it's really grown on me. Especially with those red accents!
Well I found something for the Haters of the new 3rd Gen:

Don't hate or like the new Canyons. GMC products, IMHO, have always had a square/blunt face to mimic big trucks rigs. So, they may appeal to certain owners. $5k more for an upgraded interior doesn't impress me.

The hoods on both the the 2023 Colorado and Canyons seem identical. So, what's the difference?

My 2021 Colorado has a more streamlined front and maybe that equates to better MPG. Probably not by much, but every MPG helps.
