I saw a video where a guy had his iPad monitoring his truck like a banks I dash does. Does anyone know what app it is and what I need to connect it to my truck

A lot of these subjects have pretty good threads discussing all the different options already since these trucks have been around for a while. So, I present to you...

D-Max Engine Monitors | Chevy Colorado & GMC Canyon (coloradofans.com)

Over the years and vehicles I've used just about all the different options...
Enjoy!

You need torque pro. It's a small fee to get all the features that make it pro.

Get a bafx dongle. Those work better then the cheaper elm products. Some things won't read.

Use a older no longer activated phone. That can be your dedicated monitor.

I use my last 3 phones. Whe I'm using.
Usually I'll just use my current phone for short monitors.

The OP doesn't necessarily need to pay for the Pro app, they can get the free/Lite version and see if it does everything they need/want before buying the paid version. The free version offers a lot of functionality.
