Vehicle registration weight

Anybody else run into "vehicle weight not certified with the state" creating a delay in issuing a vehicle title and plates?

On the Chevrolet build website there are weights such as 5400 lbs, 5600 lbs, etc. Is this the maximum gross weight that should be listed on the registration?

I chatted with GM customer service and was told the weight of my Colorado WT alone is 2452 lbs. Is this the weight that will be listed on the vehicle title? Thanks.

I don't have my registration forms in front of me, should either be the rated GVWR or the Curb Weight. Either number should be on the vehicle plate normally located on the driver door pillar.

I can't think of any weight on these trucks that should be 2452 lbs. Perhaps they meant 4252 lbs?

I would guess that each state has to get some certifications for road worthiness for a vehicle - but the title documentation provided should have the required weight numbers listed

My new Canyon extended cab has 5700 lbs gross vehicle weight listed on the door sticker and 4100 lbs listed on the Texas title.
