Does anyone know if this tool will work? Seems legit. $32.40 is the best price I've found.

ditto - I bought, have, use the orange EL 50448, works easily. One trip to get them relearned and it pays for itself.

My only tpms GM vehicle is an '08, and you teach it which wheel is which by getting it into learning mode and letting air out of each tire.

Is it different now? It requires a tool? Sorry to be out of the loop, haven't bought a twin yet.

That tool is just a waste of money for me. I just carry a little manual gauge in the center console for when a low pressure light comes on to find which one it is.

The EL-50448 is the tool GM authorized by Kent Moore. This is the tool to have and normally it is around $60 and worth every penny.

The EL-50448 will work on all new vehicles and GM state will work well into the future as there are no plans to change the system. It will also work on all models back to 08.

While some may hate to pay $60 this is the cheapest tool out from the MFG as most other companies require a much more expensive tool to set the tires. GM made sure this was available from Kent Moore before they went to the new system. At least they did not stick us with a $300 or more system.

the old system had some faults and when they fixed them them they would not longer let you do the GM Chinese fire drill of letting air out.

You buy this one it will be worth every penny over time. I would have bought one even if they had not changed the system.

As for the other ones out they may or may not work. Best to go with the one sanctioned.

I have the EL-50448 and it works just fine.

good idea to have a TPMS rest tool if you have a spare rotating in as I intend to do soon.

Toughsox: I'm ordering a full size spare next week and probably a Wilco Hitchgate; I'm sure you are right that my 33" tire will not fit underneath.

one consideration going with a Hitchgate is the extra 18-24" of length added at the back! I already have the crew cab and long box; my Colorado is harder to handle in tight spots than my old H1. The under-hung spare is a bad location for off-roading; my truck is lifted but the clearance between the road and old spare just looks too low. I plan to use the old spare well for a compressed air tank.

What. . .. where? I would like that price also... please share with the rest of us.

Also, I assume you are talking about the reset tool?

Multiple TPMS Sensors Sets/Swap?

Let me throw out this scenario.

1. Currently have four wheels mounted on truck. TPMS system works perfect.
2. Purchase four "new" wheels with different TPMS sensors (included with new wheels).
3. Remove current wheels and install newly purchased wheels.

Will the new wheels have to be "paired" with the tool in order for the low pressure monitoring system to work at all?

Or, will it work but just possibly report bogus wheel location?

The later would be ok with me, because if it shows low pressure in the DIC, I'll just check all four wheels with a gauge.

If the original wheels are next to the vehicle, they would give bogus location readings. When the original are separated from the vehicle, the light TPMS light will come on and give you an error message. The new sensors will need to be paired to work correctly.
