I like your set up, but wondering how comfortable it is while driving in terms of field of vision. I already find the dash high with the Info screen.
I still like using my Garmin and always mounted low on every other truck/car below the windshield (got a good signal)
The dash configuration on this truck doesn't allow me to get a signal.
I don't have any issue with the setup, it's fully adjustable. If anything is in my way, it's the factory rear view mirror.

Had some down time today, so took the wife out to the desert for a day trip. Went out to Borrego Springs to check out the sculptures. There's 130 sculptures scattered around, so hit some of our favorites.

And my favorite, a 350 foot Serpent. Used to be able to drive up to it, not it's fenced off and have to hoof it in.

Grabbed some lunch and headed out to Font's Point, a cool place to lookout over the Borrego Badlands.

I've got a dash cam on order and am wondering about that huge mirror ass'y...

Yea, that mirror's a PITA. Drove about 4 hours of nothing but turns today, and necks hurting from having to duck down to see under the mirror on sharp right turns.

Just saw your signature, congrats on your truck shipping yesterday. Hopefully not too much longer (y)

Guess its in the seating position for the field of view.
Your little trip sounds great, guess I have wait to actually see the pictures, nice icons though

Edit. Can see most of the Pictures now, wish that area was on my doorstep

Ahh, I see what you're talking about. The pics I posted when I first put it together has the phone mount straight out towards the driver. Plus, to take the picture I was leaning over the center console, making it look like the windshield is cluttered.

I actually have the phone arm laid to the right and the phone sits to the right of the GoPro. For me, it doesn't block my FOV. I'll snap a picture later showing a better view.

Not sure whats going on with the pic icons. I've noticed them on other threads and I have to keep deleting and re-inserting them.

Its a glitch on the board, I was able to see your pics from the trip finally, now they are back to icons.

Beauty of a truck! I saw one, maybe yours, out by Lake Sutherlin/Palomar Mtn this morning. I'll keep an eye out for you, sounds like we're interested in a lot of the same things. I'd say keep an eye out for me, but black Colorados are a dime a dozen. Mines a little different though....

Thanks man, I'll definitely keep an eye out for your truck.

Just checked out the first page of your build, and it's awesome. Plan on taking the time to go through the whole thread tomorrow.

Thanks for your service (y)

This is also one of my only gripes - that, and like almost every rearview mirror in every vehicle I've ever driven, you can't adjust it to be used without craning your neck down if you're both tall and prefer a more upright seating position - I just need another couple of degrees of upward articulation to be happy.

Your build is the reason my wife decided to get onboard with lifting the front of our ZR2… lol. Question: did you do the 2”/1” leveling kit or did you just do the front 2” with no rear end lift?

I went with just the 2” in front, stock rear. I won’t be towing or loading the bed too much with this truck and really prefer this look, compared to a rake or level look.

Tinted the fogs, to match the ditch lights.

Also, just pulled the skid plate and prepped it. Will be spraying it with Herculiner tomorrow.
