Well they looked great when I did the online build simulator so I bought them and just got around to having installed. Now I'm not quite sure I'm getting that warm & fuzzy feeling with them. I will give it a few weeks before rushing into tearing them off, but curious about what you guys think? Again, honest opinions - no offense will be taken (well unless you make disparaging remarks about my mother or something HA!)

Black decals with black trim on orange is fine but maybe not THOSE decals. I agree it looks ok but might be better without. Tough call which is why you asked. Truck looks great though. Love the orange.

I had bedliner sprayed on my 2006 Colorado, as a rock-chip preventative, which looked similar. I like the look and will probably do a similar thing w/my 2018 (spray-on). It's your truck so the only person to impress is...yourself.

I like the style that is higher on the side and runs in to the box.

I would be interested what it would look like if the stripe extended to the rear wheel well. But if that's not an option I would agree with the group and remove.

I really like the orange color on the truck, but the decal stripe just doesn't fit. As others have mentioned it needs to be longer, and honestly with the trim on these trucks being more of a flat dark grey, the black looks out of place. It would look much better to my eye if it was a dark grey decal that reached to the rear wheel well. But in all reality, hopefully you will use the truck often and get it so muddy, you'll never know the decals are on there!

This is what I was thinking also - it'd look a lot better if it were either a matte black or a dark gray and more matched the fender flares, rock sliders, etc. I would also like to see it continue to the rear wheelwell, it looks a little incomplete ending in the cab.

I installed them on my ZR2 ... they were not what I was expecting but I left them on. Been on for 6 months now and they have grown on me. They really should have made the Performance logo stand out more than they did ...

I've got a Cajun Red truck and was not a fan when I looked at the builder. This was the only truck available in the area and had them already installed. After seeing them in person I do like them. I think these trucks look good either way. With all of the black trim you have, it blends in nicely.

For my taste plain and simple, too short! I like the black contrast on the orange but if it were my truck I would have extended to at least the length of the green truck pictured above and maybe even as far as behind the rear wheel. To each his own, some will like some won't. Take the picture and do some editing on the computer with paint or some software. Erase the stripe or make it longer and whatever the outcome that you like go with it.

Local dealer did an orange one, had the black strip like the gold stripe pictured above, looks nice that way

there is also a jacked up red one in the neighberhood with the black stripe along the contour

I went with the side moldings vs the decals on the extended cab. I am more partial to the matte black on trims. The crew cab has the matte black decal on it though.

Still waiting for the bed moldings to come in.

the white truck black stripe/molding would look good extended to the bed

the red truck needs to have it removed and the bars in the bed make the truck look out of proportion. saw one on and extended cab and looked much better

sorry just my opinion

I like it on the orange! If it were mine, I'd probably create a similar section to take it further back along the the contour of the fender on the bed to make it look a bit more finished.

I think most of you are hitting on the 2 things I dislike most about it too. It’s too short & 2 low. It really surprises me that this is an OEM dealer installed option. It just looks unfinished and doesn’t “flow” with the lines of truck at all. The longer one in the recessed area some of you guys have definitely looks better. I might even consider a full length thin line-x strip on the orange peel strip between the fender flares and from bumper to rear flare as well as the pinch weld. Pretty sure they could closely match the color of flares. Dealer put it on for free. But if I take it off I’m assuming I would just need to use heat gun and goo gone?? Thanks again everyone for your opinions and suggestions. I truly respect and appreciate the feedback!!

Yea, if it were extended along at least part of the bed, it would definitely be an improvement vs the way it sits now.

Just being honest. :wink2:
And, dont feel bad if it doesnt move you. I had the OEM mudflaps on and, when I installed the fender flares, it lasted exactly an hour before I took the flares off. It simply didnt work for me. Then again, it might not have even been an hour. But, one of the Staff members here loved them, even though he had to take them home on a bus. HAHAHAHAHAHA

While I like the look of the higher and longer stripe, I have a suggestion that may make these look better. The "Performance" does not stand out, but I think it would give a very different perspective if it did. Why not cut out the Chevy Logo and Performance so they are visible in Orange. You can test this with some Plasti-Dip and spray the area and either tape the letters off or what I have found is easier, is to use a plastic razor blade the trim the outside areas after you sprayed it.

If you like the look with the Logo and Performance in Orange, you can cut the graphic yourself to go a body wrap and decal shop and ask them to do it - it is usually rather inexpensive to have done.

I agree that would probably look better as it would break up that huge splat of misplaced solid black. Still though, I'm not really wanting to "fully display" the "Performance" logo or bowtie either personally. I've almost convinced myself now(with a little help from you all too HA) its the high recessed full length decal or nothing.

If I go to take this decal off - will I be OK just using a heat gun lightly to loosen it and peel off then using goo gone to clean up residue? Not sure exactly what type of adhesive I am dealing with here. I've worked with 3m tape decals with no issue, but definitely don't want to assume same process with this type of sticker?

Most likey a little it will come right off. No gogone will be required. I pulled my Z71 decals off w/o issue.
