Awesome. thanks for the info.

Another question for you, where did you hook up the hot wire for the switch? Cigarrette lighter? I'm thinking thats what I want to do to make sure I only turn on the light bar when the truck is on. Otherwise, not really sure where to get power for the switch unless i go to the ignition switch which requires more work.
I didn't want to use anything for power that required me to access wires under the dash that can be difficult to get to. I ran my wire to the fuse box in the passenger side footwell. It is very easy to get to. Then I used an add a circuit fuse holder and connected it to fuse F29. It is only powered when the truck is on.

Perfect, Didnt realize there was another fuse box down there. I thought there was only one in the engine bay. That makes life much easier.

added this today i like the spot... now im thinking where im going to tie it into for power... maybe the usb in the console or try and pull out that little panel for front usb area.. any thoughts guys?

I would use a relay so you don't have a live wire coming through the firewall much safer way to wire it. Easy to do.

LilMikey has started a thread saying he's looking for things to do with his 3d printer.

Might want to hit him up.
I'm good, I have my switch setup laid out, just need to figure out where the relay system should go underhood.

I would, but I've already bought the stuff to wire it, before I knew about the Bussman or the SPOD.

Not in a huge hurry, since I still need brackets fabbed for this. White/Amber 22" and 2 7" amber LED bars (Placeholders for the Diode Dynamics rally bars).

Wiring access

I have spent quite a while searching for a spot that I can get wires for auxiliary lights inside the cab to the switch for 2nd Gen Colorado/Canyon. I added cargo basket with lights built in. I am trying to get them hooked up. Will someone please share how you ran the wires inside the cab for your auxiliary lights? I know it was prob obvious to everyone else but I just cannot seen to find a opening to accomplish this. I am not well versed in this area. I suppose I could just drill a hole somewhere but I hope this isn't necessary. Vehicle is 2017 GMC Canyon Crew Cab Diesel. Suggestions and information will be very appreciated. Thank you.

I just ordered a SwitchPros unit, they just came out with a blue backlit one instead of green. It's programmable, bluetooth for phone control, backlit with customizable labels, very easy and clean install.

Switch Pros - Home

I'm going to install over tiny pocket between heated seat switches.

Do have pictures of your install?
