The plug is under the dash near the steering column. Open your driver door and stick your head on the floor near the gas and brake pedal and look up, it will be the big white plug staring you in the face. If you need anymore help let me know
I have a 2004 impala and I don't have a plug that even comes close to and there is no blue and white have white and green please help

Will this work on the 2011 Chevy Colorado? I was told that if I cut any wires it will shut my truck down. Just paid 500 for a new ignition switch and now the truck is still having the same issue 😑 The antitheft lock is flashing on and off and won't start for about 10 mins.

I have a 2005 Trailblazer and the vats started acting up and after a few times of resetting the passlock it now wont start or crank at all. The directions say to start the car before cutting the wire. What do you do if you can not start the vehicle.

Yes, this cutting the blue wire "fix" isn't exactly permanent. The car must be running when you do it and if you ever loose battery power you must start over.
You are on a Colorado forum BTW, if I were you I would ask on a Trailblazer forum. I have no idea if the Trailblazer is the same.
Good luck, this system sucks.

Did you have the switch installed? It must be programmed by a Chev dealer to work. You might check with a locksmith too, they can do some of this stuff.

I did it and it didn’t work definitely made sure I cut the white wire with a blue strip and now It won’t start at all
reconnect, then wait the 10 minutes. Once it starts cut the wire while it is running.

Ok, I know this thread has been around forever. I have finally cut the wire after a couple years of intermittent passlock no starts. It works great. My question to those have been doing this a while is; I soldered in a toggle switch. The wires on the switch are a little bigger than the white/blue wire. If I ever have to turn the switch on to change the battery, clear codes, etc, will it not start because of the bigger guage wires on the switch? Will the bigger wires change the resistance causing it to not start or doesn'tthis matter? I realize I could eliminate the switch and wire nut the original wire together directly if need be, (which would be a pain). I was just wondering if anyone could chime in if they ran into this problem so I know what to expect in the future. Thanks in advance.
2004 crew cab - Original owner still going strong at 108K.

Can anybody reply to the above? I don't want to turn the switch on and find out it will not restart to reapply the fix while it's running. Just wondering if anyone ran into a resistance problem with bigger gauge wires on the toggle switch. I know sometimes electronics are very sensitive and I don't know it this will present a problem. Being that this thread is so aged I figured someone had to install a switch with bigger gauge wires and went thru this before. TIA for your reply.

Switch won't matter, you might have to wait the 10 minutes to start the truck after the battery swap with the switch on, then when running turn it off. Or get a gizmo that retains battery power while the battery is changed, that would work too.

Awesome, that answers my question. I was worried about having to eliminate the switch and try to connect that wire directly. Not much slack left up there. I understand about reverting back to waiting 10 minutes again by closing the circuit with the switch. I don't mind that, as long as I know it should eventually start again so I could reapply the fix by flipping the switch back to off. Thank you.

How to: Permanently disable the passlock II system.

I assume no responsibility if you harm your vehicle with this mod. ( follow the directions, this includes step one! )

Vehicle Information:

2006 Chevrolet Colorado, Z71, Crew Cab

Tool Needed:

1.Wire Cutters/scissors
2. Electrical Tape
3.Key to the truck

Cost: $0.25

Pre How to warning

This will disable the factory ignition security! I recommend getting an aftermarket security system to help protect your truck in case of an attempted theft.

What does this solve?

Any and all no start issue directly related to the passlock II system.

Step One: Start the truck, leaving it in park, and running during this process.

Step Two: Locate the plug pictured below, The plug is under the dash near the steering column. Open your driver door and stick your head on the floor near the gas and brake pedal and look up, it will be the big white plug staring you in the face. If you need anymore help let me know. You will notice that on the side closest to the front seats, the plug is pretty much split in two. We will be working with the right side of this plug. We are looking for the wire that is White with a BLUE stripe. It will be with other wires that are white/colored stripe.

Step Thee: Cut this wire in half, and electrical tape both ends.

Step four: Shut off the truck, You’re done!

Try restarting it, you will see the red security light on, but that can be removed with the LED mod how to.
How-to: Custom Gauge Lighting (LEDs) w/video

This can also be done using this Bypass (this is what is done on my 2007 Cobalt ss/sc for the remote start/alarm).

I'm not sure but it doesn't seem right looking at the picture if your head is on the floor and this plug is right in front off your face you have the arrows for the doors switched around
