Engine bay trim missing

Anyone else notice that GM is leaving out two black plastic trim pieces in the engine bay on the drivers side on top of the headlight assembly mounting bracket and down by the headlight assembly near the windshield washer fluid tank?
It's mainly just annoying, but does leave metal edges exposed that are a bit sharp and leaves a big hole down into the inside of the quarter panel. It's an unfinished look on the drivers side because the passenger side has both pieces that cover the sheet metal ends and the headlight mounting bracket with a clean, organized typical GM engine compartment look. My dealer checked other new trucks on the lot and they don't have the trim on the driver side either. ?? It's like the assembly line guy on that side of the truck quit one day and they just decided to leave it out on all future trucks (sarcasm ensues).

Its as designed.

There is a bulletin about it, but I cant find a free copy of it to post.

Normal Characteristic - Missing Underhood Trim At Front Left Fender Area
TSBID: 186704 Mfg Num: PIT5321 Issue Date: 2014-09

The longer piece keeps the air within the fender to feed it to the airbox and same with the smaller piece behind the headlight.

The smaller piece I'm talking about is on the top where the hood closes. It's just over engineered. It seems like they could have included that smaller top piece on both sides that doesn't seem to close off anything at all, it's all sheet metal underneath.

If you take careful notice, you can actually see that piece on the passenger side when the hood is closed.

Which is exactly why I took mine off. My truck is black and it stuck out like a sore thumb so cant imagine what you guys with the lighter colors think about it. But, its nothing functional.

Maybe it's just me but, I'm still trying to figure out from @Toughsox photos, what's not symmetrical with the front end? I'm not seeing it from the photos but it is New Years Eve and I am drinking beer. :grin2:

I know one headlight has a cover and the other doesn't, but can you see that from the outside of the truck?

Edit: I see it today, helps to be sober.

Personalty I think it is why hood flutter is only on the drivers side. The wind gets under the hood and lifts that corner. Passenger side is closed off the the wind entering there. Do the 15's have a plastic piece on the driver side? Many of us have the hood flutter. It gets really bad when going 80 against a head wind.

Didnt you go have the hood flutter taken care of? They had some fashion of a plate they installed on the first year or twos worth of Colorados. Cant say I had mine done because.....I took the stock hood off. :grin2:
