Emergency Brake use causing #33 fuse to blow

When I fully depress my emergency brake pedal it blows #33 fuse causing my right headlight and right turn signal to go out. Could the pedal be coming into contact with something underneath the dash to cause this or should I look somewhere else?

Cable probably rubbed thru a wire by the floorboard. If you cannot find it soon, buy you a resetable fuse of the correct size and put it in.

FYI, my 2019 Colorado had a "service stabilitrak" error the first month I had it. Dealer discovered that the factory had routed a wire harness differently and it was in contact with the parking brake mechanism somehow. The problem made itself known so quickly because my truck was a manual and the parking brake is used way more often than in an auto.

Definitely check to see if the parking brake has cut into a harness and is causing it to short.

Theres been roll overs from children pulling the brakes…. And a few other curious individuals.

Obviously ours are not the handle style. But yeah.

Newer cuvs are all electric buttons now. I’ve never tried it. Nor will I. But I would imagine they block the brake from applying at speeds.
