Look at the "interior " section of this link. It states that the 2021 Canyon Denali has real open pore ash wood trim. I sat in one of those trucks and it appears to be true. I'm guessing some people are selling their fake wood to go and buy the real wood.

The 2021 Denali wood is indeed real. Here's what it looks like.

Anybody know the part #’s for the real wood 2021 pieces?

I don't have the part numbers. Hopefully someone else here does. I've decided I'm going to go this route as well. I don't mind the shiny fake wood on my SLT but, the matte finished and well figured real wood is so much nicer. Even nicer than the photos above suggest. As I mentioned before, I sat in one of the '21s. If it helps with the ordering, here is the VIN # for that very truck.

Thx. Thought I was crazy because I liked the wood trim and everyone was bashing it. I too first saw it in a 2021 and had no idea the trim was different in years past.

Ok, so I went to the dealer today to try and order wood. Couldn't get in the building due to covid so I had to phone them. I gave them the Denali VIN that I had. Got the usual dealer grade confusion such as this only fits '19 to '21 models, '15s and '16s are different but no reason why except that the clips underneath MIGHT be different (yeah right). He said the shifter trim is $131.00, fair enough but the door trim is only sold together with the window switch trim at $400.00 per side. At that point I checked my phone to see if I called the Rolls Royce dealer by mistake. I guess I will have to live with the plastic wood. Sorry I don't have any part numbers. Maybe someone else here could try their luck.

I did some research and I believe these are the part numbers for the real wood denali pieces:

84956917
84956916

402390

If you google these the are about $80 something a pop which sounds about right (since the plastic versions of these door trims are usually around $40) and have a description of "ceruse ash" - a good technique I have found is to look at the brochure for a make/model car to see what the name is for the description - and its referred to as Ash for the 2021 denali.

I used that technique to track down the fake plastic door trim and shifter trim for the previous Denali canyons' they refer that one as "hanon oak" for the platsic wood.

I haven't been able to find the part number for the real wood shifter trim yet - did they give you a part number for that the one that you said is $130?

Well I think you nailed it with the door trim. Thanks. As for the shifter trim, no I don't have a part number but it was that piece that the dealer was sure he could order and it would fit. I will try again tomorrow.

Also, keep in mind that I'm in Canada so $130 for the shifter trim sounds unlikely. That's probably for the plastic trim. Yes I think we will need the part number.

Found the shifter trim part #: 8462661. Price: $187.72. Confirmed the same part #'s for door trim they are $125.82 a piece.

Not cheap. I hate to guess what the prices will be here in Canada. At least now I have the part numbers so I can look into it. Thanks

Is this it? Looks nice but what about the back doors.

Well now, doesn't this throw a wrench in things? Those parts on ebay look to be correct on the outer surface but appear to be plastic as described. The ad says they are 2020 take off parts. Does anybody here have trim that looks like that on their 2020?

And the back doors are all black plastic and a different length so you are out of luck there. It's an economy measure. I guess the people sitting in the back contributed no money towards buying the truck.

Didn't think of that! Guess I will find out, I ended up buying those off of Ebay. When I called the GMC dealer today they said the door trim was unavailable at this time and only had access to order the console trim. Fingers crossed!

I called about the trim here in Canada and it was also unavailable although at least the prices were pretty much the U.S. price plus exchange. One of the pieces you bought has a sticker that says "ash wood" so I will be very interested to hear from you when the parts arrive. I bet it's plastic with a thin wood veneer attached. That way the parts with clips still work with the existing trucks and it still looks and feels the part. Regardless, it appears you're getting something that looks good for the right price.

I would be surprised if these are not the same as the 2021's otherwise the part #'s should be different plus the pics show a sticker on back of the parts with a manufacture date of 09/20 on them which could be late year add to any late 2020's or it may be possible even though its says parts are from a 2020 in the ad on eBay they could be from a 2021 and the year just not listed correctly. I also picked up the parts list for the 2020's today at the dealer and Ash is not listed as an option. The mystery continues!

If you look at post #47 where ebesore posted some part numbers, it shows "Ceruse Ash". You might find it interesting to lookup that term. I do think you have the right parts coming.

yes it will be a plastic base with wood veneer. That is generally how real wood trim is done.

My wife’s Acadia came with real wood trim. The funny part is it looks fake even being real. Only GM can make real wood look fake.

The new Denali trim in the trucks really is a step up. The original trim is not great.

There is also a pleated door Incept pad. The old was just padded but the new one is done in pleats that really help give it some depth.

The unavailable parts are likely do to them being new parts and the virus. The Corvette has a number of trim items dropped due to supplier issues. GM may be giving the plant priority till supplies build.

that's awesome that you found it - I would be curious about the part number on the shifter plate to see if its "84626614" or if 84626614 is a part number that includes all three pieces.

I had found 84956917 and 84956916 which I believe are the door pieces - looks like its going to be expensive to buy all three separately.
