Hi all, since it appears no site (that I've found) has the 2017 Canyon parts to reference and since there was no Denali trim level in 2016, I'm hoping maybe someone has already looked and found or can point me in the right direction to locate the part numbers for the wood trim found in the Denali Canyon. This would be the trim surrounding the gear shifter and cup holders as well as the pieces on the door armrests. I LOVE the wood and hoping I can replace the wood that came in my SLT trim level. In fact, if someone wants an upgrade for theirs, my wood trim will be up for sale if I can find the Denali trim.

Pics attached what I'm looking for, just in case....

I understand what you are saying. Especially coming Fromm german cars. The quality of the umm "wood" haha is not extraordinary but the look is more my taste instead of the mahogany type shiny finish in the SLT. It's disappointing there isn't more options for the trim in the different levels. My question remains; does anyone have a pointer to help me find the part number(s)?

I can't help with locating the specific parts you need. You might try calling the parts dept. at your dealer. The Canyon wood trim is some of the worst looking fake wood I've ever seen...including the Denali. I covered mine with a dash overlay kit as shown in this thread:

http://coloradofans.com/forums/177-2nd-gen-interior/325425-dash-overlay.html

They have a lot of different wood patterns, as well as solid colors and carbon fiber. It's extremely sturdy stuff.

That looks much better than the GMC stuff. That is what the Denali should have had.

My wood looks like a bad shop project.

Also I agree call the dealer or go on one of the GM parts web sites as man list the part numbers.

I think I can help, as I just swapped out the trim in my 2 day old Denali.

These numbers are printed on the pieces. They look like GM part numbers:

LH Door- 52018310
RH Door- 52018311
Center- 22960353

Be warned- this 'wood' isn't fooling anybody. It's 1970's Winnebago quality wood trim.

The dash trim is real aluminum not plastic like the Colorado.

The Techno steel is just plastic with a dot pattern. It at a glance looks similar to the dash but is not the same..

Ether way it looks better than the wood. But to be honest the Techno steel is not worth the cost. Like I said it was good for free.

Well I found a GM dealer on eBay that appears to have ordered a bunch of the Techno Steel trim for canyons thinking that it was actually metal. They have the kit listed for BIN $175 plus $12 for shipping which is instantly over priced. I noticed they had a OBO so I saw someone had offered $88 and they took it. Offered the same thing and they accepted and it arrived today. Took about 15 min to swap the pieces out and this is what it looks like. IMO way better than the plastic wood in the SLT trim.

Debating on ordering the Techno Steel trim for my Canyon. Does anyone know the difference between part number 23231236 and part number 84062258? I understand 84062258 is the updated part number, just curious if anyone knows what changed. Thanks!

Not sure what the change could be. GM normally likes to change a part when they make a modification so they can tell them apart. If they are the same on the outside it must be a change to something like the mounting tabs or clips. Not much else to change here.

Any comments on the durability and scratch resistance on the different trims?

I was considering ordering the Denali wood trim to replace the smooth silver painted trim in my 2018 zr2, as it is showing alot of scratches after just a couple months of use.
Because of the texture the Denali trim should hide many dings or scratches. It is more of a flat color and textured so much of it would be covered. You may be able to take a scratch and use a sharpie to cover it up.

The Techno Steel scratch resistance not better than standard trim in a Chevy.

I have a Denali and I've seen worse but there's not hiding it's fake. Overall Canyon is a bit of a disappointment for the price you pay for them.

Hi everyone,

CARiD decided to step in to say a couple of words about interior trim. We offer 3M overlay dash kits in different finishes and materials (including real and synthetic wood, carbon fiber, aluminum and some other finishes). You may view the material and dash kit options by following the link below:
2018 GMC Canyon custom dash kits at CARiD
We offer dash kits with different number of pieces included, so check the schematic in the product description of every dash kit to see, what pieces you are getting.
Hope this helps!

I am also looking for Denali wood trim also, prefer the Denali dull fake wood vs the shiny dust collecting fake wood in my SLT. Went to the dealer to price and they said I needed the last 8 of a VIN for a Denali to find the part #'s.....rediculous!

As far as I know, '17 to '20 Denali models have fake wood and '21 models have real wood and much nicer too. Or am I wrong about this?

Look at the "interior " section of this link. It states that the 2021 Canyon Denali has real open pore ash wood trim. I sat in one of those trucks and it appears to be true. I'm guessing some people are selling their fake wood to go and buy the real wood.

I don't have the part numbers. Hopefully someone else here does. I've decided I'm going to go this route as well. I don't mind the shiny fake wood on my SLT but, the matte finished and well figured real wood is so much nicer. Even nicer than the photos above suggest. As I mentioned before, I sat in one of the '21s. If it helps with the ordering, here is the VIN # for that very truck.

Thx. Thought I was crazy because I liked the wood trim and everyone was bashing it. I too first saw it in a 2021 and had no idea the trim was different in years past.

Ok, so I went to the dealer today to try and order wood. Couldn't get in the building due to covid so I had to phone them. I gave them the Denali VIN that I had. Got the usual dealer grade confusion such as this only fits '19 to '21 models, '15s and '16s are different but no reason why except that the clips underneath MIGHT be different (yeah right). He said the shifter trim is $131.00, fair enough but the door trim is only sold together with the window switch trim at $400.00 per side. At that point I checked my phone to see if I called the Rolls Royce dealer by mistake. I guess I will have to live with the plastic wood. Sorry I don't have any part numbers. Maybe someone else here could try their luck.

I did some research and I believe these are the part numbers for the real wood denali pieces:

84956917
84956916

402390

If you google these the are about $80 something a pop which sounds about right (since the plastic versions of these door trims are usually around $40) and have a description of "ceruse ash" - a good technique I have found is to look at the brochure for a make/model car to see what the name is for the description - and its referred to as Ash for the 2021 denali.

I used that technique to track down the fake plastic door trim and shifter trim for the previous Denali canyons' they refer that one as "hanon oak" for the platsic wood.

I haven't been able to find the part number for the real wood shifter trim yet - did they give you a part number for that the one that you said is $130?
