Like many of you, I don't use my 2017 Canyon for much off road stuff, have yet to pull anything, so I want the smoothest ride I can get. Yes I should've bought the Ridgeline but I didn't so here I am. The wife always wants to us to take her Lexus but with the snow and ice we've been using the 4WD some but she complains about the "rough" ride.

Thanks in advance...

I have ridden in a stock 17 canyon slt 4x4 many times and that is a pretty soft smooth ride. What is your tire pressure set to?

With how you use the truck, I'd look at a set of bilstein shocks. I had a 2003 gmc envoy that came with oem bilstein shocks and it felt like you were floating. It had more weight in back too so that may have contributed. That being said, I would contact bilstein to see what they recommend. The B6 4600 series shows available for the 2017 Canyon and sounds like it is what you seek based on their product description. Tire wise, smoothest and quietest set I've ever owned on a truck were michelin ltx m/s in a passenger tire classification, not light truck version. It came factory with passenger tires.

My 2017 Canyon AT rides real smooth, even with larger tires on it. No complaints from my wife and kids. Nothing like my friends Tundra TRD that thing is extremely uncomfortable on regular paved roads. Wonder if it's your'e tire pressure like JasonZR2 said, mine are standard 35psi and no issues.

Wow...lots of good...and funny suggestions. Thanks. Last vehicle was the Lexus RX. Like riding around in a LA-Z-Boy. Friend has a Ford F-350 and dear God it's torture riding in the back seat.

So it's possible with better shocks and tires. Current tires are some Bridgestones and need replacing this spring anyway. Tire pressure around 35psi.

The Continentals mentioned above are a smooth quiet tire, the only draw back to any soft tire is gas mileage will suffer a little.
The Bisteins that were mentioned are also a good shock, do not get the 6000- 9000 series, those are for large tires and off-roading, Rancho also makes a good on road shock, I think they too are number the same, the 4-5000 are good road shocks.

For now, I would do like has been mentioned, put 300 lbs in the back by the tail gate and see how it rides. You may be surprised how much that will smooth out the jouncing

Thanks White. I’ll give It some thought this week. I’ll have to check around. Heck...even getting an oil change for this diesel is a major hassle. Either the oil changing places don’t have the oil or the filter. The local dealer can never get me in before a week to 10 days. I think I’m blackballed because I didn’t buy it from them.

If changing the shocks only adds a few minutes I’ll do it when the new tires are put on.
