Do you guys that have a spray in bed liner also have a rubber bed mat?

I did, but my truck got wrecked.

It will help with trowing stuff and making noise, cracking the lining (maybe) or keeping stuff from sliding.

Yes, it makes the perfect combo that is easy on the knees. Combined with a fold a cover or roll up, it doesn't get any better.

Line-X with rubber mat...
I use the mat to bring things out to the tailgate. I also pull the mat to the rear, place objects on it and slide it into the truck. this works for almost anything...washers, dryers even when I haul dirt. I slide the mat out onto the tailgate and load the dirt. then when unloading it keeps from damaging the bed liner plus makes cleanup easier. I also have a hard roll up bed cover.

You actually are able to slide the bedmat on the spray in bed liner? I would not think it would move, especially with any weight on it.

easy on the knees is right! I have the spray in bedliner too but I didn't really want to spend $80 for a bedmat. I picked 2 of these 2x6 ft roll mats from Harbor Freight for $8 each and trimmed the sides to fit the wheel wells. Works great and cheap!

I know this was your attempt at bed mat humor, but if you spray over the compressible bed mat then load anything heavy or sharp, will crack/tear the liner in the area and probably start the bedliner peeling up all over.

Bed mat + spray in bedliner = great combination.

Question for you guys with bed mats. I should have my truck in 2 or 3 weeks, TPW is this week. I bought a bed mat for it. Should I roll it out a few days before so it opens up, and isn't stiff when I roll it out on my truck?

I have this combo on my '16 Colorado along with the bed extender. I like the idea of keeping things from sliding around. If you do slid sharp things around on the bed mat, it doesn't tear up the spray in bed liner. As others have pointed out, much easier on the knees as well.

So now I can't decide whether to buy a slightly used DeeZee bed liner that's designed for the 6' bed for $45 and cut it or buy a brand new one that fits perfectly for the 5' for $80. Any thoughts?

How much did you pay for your truck again?

The savings will get a little over 3/4 tank of gas (guessing).

I have to assume you will need to make 2 cuts, forward of the wheels wells and behind the wheel wells? Or can you simply cut it at the tailgate end and have it still align with the wheel wells?

I have both the spray in liner and the bed mat. Have had that combo on all my trucks for the last 20 years. I bought from amazon for $82 dollars delivered. Dee Zee DZ87009 Heavyweight Bed Mat

And that Dee Zee is really non slip, sometimes too much.

I do not like bed mats, had them hate them.. You cannot slide anything into the truck. Ya gotta set it on the bed, climb into the bed and carry it towards the front. then stack more stuff on, climb into the bed and carry it to the front, like landscape block....tree stands, hunting totes etc..
I have a couple of used rubber floor mats, If I have something I do not want to slide I set it on them.
When hauling bikes and other stuff, I have a nice piece of carpet that I cut to the bed specs, you can kneel on it and no ridges to hurt your knees on...it stays in most of the year, shake it out when it gets dirty

The Dee Zee Bed Mat is a nice heavy rubber mat.

If you have a short bed, and you're good with a razor knife, Tractor Supply has 4' X 6' X 3/4" rubber stall mats for ~$50.

I used the DeeZee mat with linex liner in my 2001 2500 HD and have the factory liner in my 2020 SLT, also with a Dee Zee mat. The only problem I had was when transporting something heavy with small casters, (3" ).
After one trip I found dents in the bed floor from the casters. Now when I think it may happen again I throw in a piece of T-111 on top of the mat..
