Well, I, too have a dead battery again this morning. Only second time, first was back in July. Build date March 22. I have the truck on a charger now. I will be letting my dealer service department know asap.

Interestingly, there was an update a few days ago that went ok, no issues.
I just made a post #660. When did you get the update and if you go to your MyChevrolet APP, what date is on the update?

My App shows an update on 3/31/2023 and 04/29/2023, both before it left the factory.

I haven't had any issues (yet, knock on wood). I'm curious if trim level matters. I have a WT with the plus engine, tow package (not the electronic monitoring stuff), limited slip diff, and WT convenience 1. Built somewhere in the March timeframe. Took delivery mid May. Anyone else have a pretty basic truck and have you had any issues?

Family members truck has had a dead battery two days in a row now. Seems to be this new update that just came out. Our ZR2 is still turning on fine, but shows last update in July. So not sure if it just hasn’t hit us yet.
Just went out to start mine and it’s almost dead.
got through the first round and dealer updated when I bought. I have 4 k miles and just had it in for oil change a couple days ago?

Well the Discussion Starter is No Longer Active/Here
So going to say that there will be no Update from them:

Well it happened again. Im stranded and waiting for the dealer to jump this truck so I can get it to the dealer. Another failed up date. Im so over this truck and the entire situation and experience. Going to hopefully use the lemon law or get GM to get me another vehicle. I don't know the answer. Im so aggravated right now

Mine is dead as well Z71, picked up in July.

It's on my charger now, trying to get it up to voltage then will hook it back up and see what happens, first attempt, killed the battery immediately, but I only had it up to 11.77 volts that time, I'm waiting until 12.4 or higher this time.

then I will have it towed to the dealership I guess

Well, as battery is still dead I can't access the updates list. Note, there are two sets of updates that can take place: Android Automotive, and GM. The AA updates are what show up in the infotainment menu. The GM updates do not.

The other one I had this week was Monday - I started truck to head to work, and there was a message saying downloading update. All was good all week until this morning.

Mine shows the same update dates but the dealer did one when u bought in July, although it doesn’t show in my app.

I went out to my four month old WT this morning with the bass engine, but multiple packages added on, 2 Wheel Dr., and my battery was Stonecoal dead and even after getting it jumped all of the electronics were out. I have not had any updates since I pick the vehicle up at the end of May. Had to drop it off at the dealership today.

You might as well get it to the dealership. I just dropped mine off. Hope to know more next week. This is a total mess. I am going to do my best to get another truck or im going to trade this thing ASAP. i called GM Customer service and told them the situation i am in. At least its documented. I don't want this truck back until they fix this issue permanently.

Mine was completely dead this morning. Towed to the dealer. About a month ago, I had no sound - no radio, no chimes, no blinker noise. I disconnected the battery, and the problem went away. Yesterday, I had no radio. An error message on the screen said to turn the vehicle off and back on - if that doesn't work, take it in for service. I put the truck in park, and the radio came back on. Then this morning it is totally dead. Check engine code is low voltage. The tow driver was able to jump it to drive on and off the flatbed. After being on the charger for a half hour at the dealership, they said the voltage was still too low to get a full diagnostic. Got a free loaner to drive until it is fixed.

My AT4 with 7100 miles was dead today too. Jumped it with another car but screens all black. Drove it about 15 minutes, parked it for 3hrs, it started again but screens still black. Disconnected the battery for 30 minutes, it started, and all screens are working again. Idling battery voltage 13.5 (it was 4 when dead before the jump). I turned off the automatic updates and will tell dealer about it when I take it in for its first oil change.

Just came out to a dead battery on my 2023 Trail Boss. This is the first time it’s happened and curious how people are handling it. I have a very small battery charger that I use for my motorcycle but that would likely take a day or more to charge the battery. I could also try to jump it with my wife’s car but I read somewhere GM doesn’t advise this approach for completely dead batteries. Is it best to have it towed to the dealer? If so, does GM offer free roadside assistance/towing for a period of time or do I need to use my AAA towing plan?

I charged mine with a normal battery charger and it drove fine after that with all screens working.
Shutt off and it started again ok. Left a charge on it for a couple hours and its now reading 12.9 volts at rest.

Will see what happens in the morning and will get iT to the dealer on Monday….this is crap and a shame cause i love this truck otherwise. Just travel too much to have it not be dependable…..

Just came out to a dead battery on my 2023 Trail Boss. First time for me as well.

Did the GM Roadside Service and they jumped it. Drove around for an hour to see if any issues came up but everything seemed fine. Stopped at the dealership and service counter said they haven't heard of any OTA issues and could look at it on Monday.

Really annoying since I was leaving for a five day trip to the mountains today. Don't want to risk getting stuck in a remote area though.

I love how none of these dealers know anything about this situation yet this is happening to 3rd G Colorado and Canyon owners all over
the country….some for the second time. Communication should be so easy between GM and the dealers these days. This is pitiful and unacceptable.

Yes there is roadside. Since the battery is AGM I wouldn’t use an ordinary battery charger. A smart charger will determine the battery type and then charge accordingly.
There was a news feed yesterday commenting on a new round of battery failures…no reason mentioned.
