FYI took my 2023 Chevy Colorado Z71 for a run pulled up to the main intersection leaving my subdivision, the truck auto stooped, and never started again. Total electric system failed, never started again. The lights on dash would come up however it had all kinds of service signs come up, service power steering, service ECS, Service charging system, service airbag, roll driver window up roll driver down. Tried to jump it thinking it was a bad battery did not work. Tried to remove battery terminal for 5 min re-install nothing changed. Push the start button start lights come on dash does not start, but will never turn off I had to remove the battery to get the dash to turn off. I also had to pull apathy the shifter to find the neutral safety switch which the dealer was not help with they did not know where it was. With my electrically problem you could not put the trans in neutral. I Did find it had to pull shifter panel off pull shifter leather cover off look down next to shifter white piece of plastic flick up and you can put into neutral.

It was towed to Dealer I will shoot out an update when they tell me what happen.

It's most likely a low battery, the question is why is it low.

Ive seen comments that some sat for so long for hail repairs that the batteries died. Ive heard of this from a few people in the last 24 hours... Wonder if there was some OTA update that is now keeping something on that is draining the battery.

Doesn't sound like it "auto-stopped".... sounds like you witnessed it's untimely death right then and there.
Sorry mate. Hope it's a simple fix.

I heard it might be the battery, so I charged the battery overnight before it was towed to Chevy, Battery was 100% in the morning still no start. Even with the battery ay 100% shifter would not go into neutral. To me it was like a CPU fail or total electrical system failure, still waiting on diagnosis from Chey they have had it for two days but here in Colorad dealers are not open Sundays, so maybe Monday I will hear something.

Similar experience today. Attempted to start this am but truck was completely dead. No lights, sounds ect. Attempted to jump multiple times with no luck - everything would go dark after ignition button press. On last attempt prior to planned tow to the dealer it started (pretty sure not an amp issue as this last attempt was with small battery pack just to put the truck in neutral). Maybe the dealer can identify something pulling power over night?

I have a 2023 Colorado Trail Boss edition. Ordered it in February and received it in mid May. About two weeks after delivery, the truck started with the same problems you are experiencing. These problems eventually turned into black screens, dead batteries numerous times, check engine light on numerous times, crash alert going off randomly for no reason, lights on mirrors for lane avoidance on numerous times, no reason, system forgetting my phone regularly, doors locking and unlocking on their own, and numerous other things. I have had it in the shop 6 times for a total of over 20 days, and each time they say it is fixed. They just put in a new battery and redid some codes, so I will see how long it lasts. I have since filed the paperwork to have them repurchase the vehicle, as there is clearly something wrong that they can't seem to fix. I had a 2020 Colorado that I wish I would have kept. I like the truck, but it is as trustworthy as Mexican tap water.

Before you try and jumpstart a car next time, check the fuses. Sometimes a new ride's fuses will not be seated all the way. I had to properly push in 4 on my 2023 canyon at4. I just started having issues with Bluetooth connection no longer wanting to work.... Il try disconnecting the battery for a few mins and see what happens. Good luck with that electrical gremlin you got going on.

Thinking about it late at night, my 2022 Bolt does something like this sometimes after I have the battery disconnected for a bit. It wouldnt turn on, or off, just flash DIC and HMI

The fix for me was to walk the fob away and press the start button again to get the vehicle to query the fob, realize it was absent, and then when I fetched the fob it would function properly. Gave me an MIL and "conditions not correct to shift" error, for whatever that was worth.

Mine was dead this morning as well.. I was able to jump it with my reliable 1993 Silverado.. Battery test showed 4 volts. It took about 15 minutes before the instrument panel or screen powered up. I tried the starter again and it finally started. I guess I'm lucky from what I've been reading. Just finished a 360 mile drive.. Will call the service department tomorrow. BTW, I checked the fuses nearly all of them pushed further down. At least 5 were barely half way in..

Also have this problem. Started this Saturday morning drove it an hour and a half away. Parked it for a few hours. Completely dead. Jumped it and after about 15 or more minutes charging it worked. Drive home, put a battery tender on it, completely dead in the am. Something is draining the battery faster than a trickle charger can charge it. . This sounds too consistent with everyone happening this weekend to be a fluke.

I'm wondering if those who have experienced failures can comment on their status or usage of the following types of things, to see if there is a common thread?
  • Do you connect a phone via bluetooth
  • Have you connected your colorado to any Wifi networks (like your home's or otherwise)
  • Do you have On Star (either a promo/demo or subscribed)
  • Have you setup a "Trusted Device"
  • Have you "signed in" to Google on your colorado (versus just relying on Android Auto for ex)
  • Do you use the Auto Stop.... and does it actually Auto Stop appropriately (mine NEVER stops fwiw).
Just curious, but barring some short in the system, maybe some configuration is bring it to it's knees?

Same thing happened to my new canyon at4 this morning as well. I had to jump it for a bit and not the only lights still on are the driver safety harness system and the check engine light. Made it to work ok, I'll check my engine light when I have access to my scanner at home. There's too many people having this problem this weekend to just be a coincidence. Someone is getting fired at corporate today haha

I have a 2023 Chevy Colorado Z71. Like others on this thread, there is something draining the battery on an intermittant basis. The first time the battery appeared to be dead, the truck sat for 5 days without being started. Then it sat for 7 days and started right up. Today it had not been started for 3 days and was totally dead. I used a jump start battery to start it, and it had every error alert under the sun going off. So I let it run for a couple of minutes, turned it off, opened the door, shut the door and tried to start again, and it was still dead. I jumped it again. This time the only error light still on was the check engine light. I drove it to the dealer and left it with them. My dealer is a low volume dealer and they have not seen this with any other customres yet! The first time was four weeks ago and they couldn't find anything wrong.
