I spent the last week towing this, moving furniture for my son. The trailer weighs 4000 lbs empty, and the truck seemed to do just fine towing this around town. Don't think I would want to spend too much time on the interstate with this trailer though. The brakes are fantastic, and the trailer stops the truck, instead of the truck stopping the trailer. But the trailer still tends to move the truck around a fair amount at higher speeds.

I’ve read two different numbers for towing for our ZR2: 5000lbs and 7000lbs. Do you know what our limit is? I’m assuming the former.

Yes, the ZR2 is limited to 5,000lb tow capacity.

Camper and a boat, both are around 4,000lb. Towing it with the colorado is so easy it's a joke. Can hardly tell the trailers are there, even if I leave the brake controller off.

I pull a 25 foot Keystone Bullet Premier. It weighs 4638 lbs dry’ and has a hitch weight of 500lbs. I have the baby duramax pulling this without issue.

I was going to say something like that. I don't tow anything with my Colorado as I have a Canyon. I pull a 14ft v-nose flat trailer for my Yamaha Viking.

I tow an aluminum deep v fishing boat with the 3.6. Tows just fine. I would say it doesn't it's back there on inclines. The other thing I noticed this weekend is that it is a little more sluggish on the winter blend gas. Nothing bad, just noticeable.

I've also posted this before. First trailer has a car in it. 3500lbs. Second trailer is 700 lbs. 4200 lbs total and the diesel pulls it nice and easy.

Temporarily out of the game. First year the kids loved it. Second they were just kind of "meh."

In about 10 years, when they're off to college, we'll probably get an Airstream and poke around the country on vacations. Until then we have had to evolve our family vacation plans. This summer we're doing a two week trip to Europe - Griswold style....

Just sold our 2800 lbs 20ft rpod and bought a 25 ft Apex 215rbk that weighs 4400 dry. Using an E2 800/8000 wdh.

Anyone out there with experience hauling over 6000#. I'm looking into buying a 24' bay boat and weight is looking to be above 6000# for boat, equipment plus trailer. Anyone doing the same? Any recommendations?

I finally had a chance to do some towing and camping with this combo, my biggest complaint...freeway speed. My trailer is tall enough that it struggles to go over 65MPH on the freeway. 65-70 is doable but my MPG drops quite a bit and the RPMs stay up there, 70-75 is basically keeping my foot on the floor.

I would prefer to be able to at least drive the 70mph speed limit without struggling, but it is what it is. I just have to plan on driving 65mph and then it's happy.

Hadn't seriously considered tuning until hitting that wall.

Well the lakes are back to liquid and I finally got to pull the Malibu 22 mxz out of storage and down to the cabin. The zr2 duramax did great and I was impressed. Never got over 65 because it was all back roads but it pulled it no problem. Total weight of boat and trailer is right around 6500 lbs. This little truck pulled it better than any half tons I have owned. Exhaust brake worked like a champ. Love my Colorado even more now.
