Turbo Back Exhausts

Seems like there's more than one manufacture out there that's not going to deal with potential EPA issues.

I'm probably a ways away from doing a full delete, but contemplating just ordering an exhaust to put on the shelf for the time being. Wish I could say money wasn't an issue, but questioning which route to go.

I've done searches and there's so many hits it's hard to narrow things down. Not looking to add any noise, especially going down the highway.

An acquaintance went this route and is happy, wondering about the overall quality though.

A lot of good feedback it appears on the AFE SS turbo back exhaust and these supplies are drying up quickly. 200.00+ dollar difference in price.

Thoughts/opinions?

Hello Cal74,

I had the afe turbo back system which I am also selling in the "want to buy and sell" section of this forum. Take a look for pictures.

I enjoyed it a bunch! The performance gains and the torque from dead stop is what makes it worth it! No more dead pedal!! Also the gas mileage gain was pretty nuts. You will be impressed on the mpg gains. Just know that when you stab the gas pedal it will blow some black smoke which I was not a fan for.

I am also like you where I did not like the loud sound which I had when I first just had the straight pipe. I then went down a path to add the MBRP resonator which helped with the droning sound during highway speeds and reduced the loudness a bit. Don't get me wrong it is still louder then stock... It is pretty neat that MBRP offers one now. At the time AFE was the only one I could find. I suggest you think about adding a flex pipe cause in my opinion it will help with stress as your about to put solid pipe from the little turbo all the way back.

Also you might want to ask MBRP what kind of steel they are using as the 409 steel is kind of what I see mostly for exhaust systems.

Just fyi... Taking out the stock downpipe is going to be work. lol...

Hopefully this gives you some insight as you go down this journey.
