So how i did it, I had it on flat ground (not jacked) and dropped the weep plug. it came out steadily but not faster or anything as it was cold. let that drain until a drip and then stuck a 2 way hand pump in and sucked out as much until it sucked air and then dropped the pan. took out the filter and barely 1/6-1/8 of a quart came out with that. meanwhile the whol time i cleaned the magnets and pan it was dripping so maybe a little more came out. Im dumb and didnt measure how much i took out. then panned it up, weep bolt put in and filled 7.5qts. turned it on and went through the gears 3 times each gear for about 5 seconds each. undid weep bolt and had steady flow at around 105 degrees. I wasnt sure if i was supposed to just do the 7.5 or let some out so i let it out for about 10 seconds as the flow was pretty strong and just put the bolt back in.
what the video someone else posted for the 8l45 shows is the weep hole inside the pan has like a 1 inch tube that the fluid is supposed to be level with. In our pans, theres no tube. its like a small flat/round rubber grommet so i had no idea what to do. but ive put about 400mi on it so far and it hasnt bricked on me so i guess im good lol.
