Thanks for the add. I currently own a 2017 F150. It has so many bells and whistles....it's fast as hell, love the looks etc etc. BUT there are some major issues Ford refuses to fix...like the door latch freezes and you cannot shut the door! This has been a known pro for 5 years! This mo I drove 15 miles hold my damn door shut....it has 28000 miles! It also started blowing blue smoke....a turbo issue. So needless to say I'm done with it. Without pour over all the threads....are there any major issues with the 2019 ZR1s I need to know about!
Thanks!!!

Transmission shudder issues have been mostly resolved by 2019, I believe, and can be usually fixed by a fluid flush. AFAIK there are no real issues with the V6, the diesel has intermittent issues with the emissions system but it also has an extended emissions warranty and not a GM only thing with diesels. Other than that, I don't think there are any real common issues to these vehicles.

I’ve got a 6” lift and 33s and the truck still moves. I’m not gonna win a drag by any means but I can pull into tracing. IMHO the only issues are the square wheel wells and the aftermarket being way behind.

That being said, every Chevy I’ve ever owned has had the best 4x4 on the market. They just seem to stick. The auto 4x4 is great too on icy/light snow days. No sand bags in the back.

I know you asked for issues... but there really aren’t any out there yet. I’m at 30k and running.

Besides the transmissions on the 8 speeds non-diesels I can't really think of anything major. There are a number of people who have had a number of issues, but they are seemingly both small in quantity and importance. The ones I can think of off the top of my head:

Low coolant causes gurgling in the dash.
Some seepage out of the front of the rear differential that discolors the metal but seemingly doesn't do anything else.
Some heater cores started leaking prematurely, so prematurely it was well within warranty.

My issues are more design issues, like the headlight and 4x4 switch being identical, right next to each other and out of sight (ditto the trailer brake controller being out of sight). The manual operation of the automatic transmission is bizarre to those not used to GM products. So many controls seem backwards that I'm surprised you don't lift the turn signal lever up to turn left. And finally, the incandescent headlights are pretty pathetic, but I don't care because I live in an urban area--the high beams are adequate.

So nothing major. And overall it is a good design--I've been happy.

Edit: I forgot, some people aren't happy with the shift from 1st to 2nd first thing in the morning, and some people aren't happy that when you first shift into drive or reverse in the morning it can take a second or two to engage. I personally think both those are somewhat normal automatic transmission behaviors. My six speed sometimes does the former.

I’ve read all the 8 speed stuff and mine is fine. No shutter, no odd shifting. It’s built off of the 6l80 which is a great transmission. I don’t understand the issues.

I can’t agree more on the layout though, the 4x4 shift is in a dumbass spot.

Wow, I find it very surprising Ford refuses to fix a door that won't close. Do they at least give you a bungee cord or something?!? ehehe
I love my truck, but everything you buy will have problems, at least eventually.
Oh, the headlights absolutely SUCK!

Hey folks, glad I found this gem of a forum as I'm pulling the trigger on a 2018 z71 package with super low miles. I'm wondering about the tranny issues, should I book it in for a flush asap or was this only an issue with the 8 speed. I think this one is 6?

I'm pretty pumped about it regardless and hope it does me well.

My issues are more plan issues, similar to the fog light and 4x4 switch being indistinguishable, directly close to one another and far out . The manual activity of the programmed transmission is unusual to those not used to GM items. Endless controls appear to be in reverse that I'm amazed you don't lift the blinker switch up to turn left. Lastly, the brilliant headlights are pretty terrible, however I don't mind since I live in a metropolitan zone - the high pillars are satisfactory. 192.168.100.1 192.168.1.1 jpg to pdf
