Lights getting water

I noticed after washing my truck today, that the fog lights retained water. Some of it condensed onto the plastic casing.

Is this normal? Is there a way to fix it?

(now that I think about it) water easily leaked into the top light casings as well...

Help.

I had at one time a new 1988 custom softail Harley that the signal lights on the ftont kept fogging up after a rain. I finally drillied a small pin hole in the bottom of the lenses and the problem was soleved. Funny thing was I sent the fix to Easyrider magazine and they printed it as though it was a great idea, along with my name. Ha ha so funny.

My mechanic drilled a small hole on the bottom of the front headlight and I never got moisture again.
Sounds like a mexican style fix =D
This is actually the way i did my mustang's headlamps when i first got some NOS ones, they no longer make them so keeping the moisture out with little drain holers helped.
hahahaha mexi style...Its ok I did it too in my old ride

Yea Dillusion is correct, GM has a TSB for their vehicle stating that some condensation especially after rain/wash is normal and that it should clear up after 15 mins or so with the lights on and housing should NOT be replaced under warranty. However if the lense physically has a leak and there is presence of water inside, not just condensation, only then will they cover a replacement lense. I found Nissan also has a TSB for this im sure others do as well.

So in my opinion i'd do what Dillusion said lol, don't tell the dealer though lol.

I didn't realize it was such a common problem, I'm getting the same thing. Thank god for warranties...

I've already had one front headlight fixture replaced (the passenger side) because of it getting water in it.. It actually blew a few headlight bulbs. The dealer fixed it under warranty at no charge. I'm noticing I'm getting moisture in the Driver's side headlight now too. So when I take my truck in for inspection next month, it's gonna get taken replaced as well.
So pretty much I need to take it into my dealership to get checked / replaced?
