key fob won't unlock doors

Here is a different one I think. I have a 2016 GMC Canyon with 52000 miles on it. Yesterday I got out of the truck locked my doors with the fob, went did my shopping, came back, took my fob out , went to unlock the doors and it just clicked. Tried it several times and just clicked. The doors did not unlock. Thought well maybe I need a new battery. Replaced the battery and still the doors would not unlock. I have had to use the key...the old fashion way. ;-) When I do that the horn lightly chirps until I press the key fob, then it stops. I assume that is the alarm. Has anyone experienced this before and if so what did you do? I cannot believe I would need a new actuator so soon. Of course I am out of warranty. Software update?

Does the door lock with the key fob? As a long shot, you can also try disconnecting the battery to see if it resets and starts working again. The fact that it just clicked leads me to believe it tried unlocking the door. Also, does the lock/unlock buttons do anything? If so, it is not the actuator.

Some time back my lights would flash as normal but the locks would not respond to the fob buttons. This happened after pressure washing the underside of the truck. I pulled the CCM connectors, blew them dry, applied dielectric grease and all has been good since.
I don't pressure wash the underside any more.

Same thing has happened to me Help

I washed the underside of my truck after a snowmobiling trip, now my Locks arent working. Key fob blinks the lights and tyrns on and off the alarm but the locks dont work with the fob or the lock/unlock buttons on the doors. I cant find any fuses listed for door locks. I would like to try drying the ccm but want to confirm where it is? I think in the engine compartment firewall passenger side but not sure? How do those plugs come off? Thanks for any help.

Had this happen on my 09 Malibu had to replace all the actuators they were $100 bucks a piece on eBay.

Sooo to add more intrigue three doors lock with the fob. The drivers side door doesn't lock. All others do. I went and checked the settings and all doors is checked. Meaning when the fob is used all doors will (should) unlock. I am going to try the "reboot" if you will to see if it needs resetting.

you could try lubing inside the latch on the door, shoot some wd-40 all round it there just in case. You might get lucky.

If it is bad it's not a horribly hard job, but everything is kind of expensive nowadays...

If an after market actuator is available that will help costs.

Yet another piece to this puzzle, nine times out of ten when I put the truck in drive ALL doors lock. Yes even the drivers side. Now I am wondering if it might be some relay switch. Ah hell who knows. Now I use the key to lock and unlock to drivers door.

This is going to be an on going puzzle I think. When driving all locks unlock AND lock with the fob. When I shift into drive or park all locks lock and unlock. When i use my fob outside of the truck three locks lock and unlock. The drivers door does not. The same when I use the onstar app. The drivers door lock clicks but does not lock or unlock. Maybe a relay of some sort. Electrical issues can be a bear to track down. Happy Saturday. :)

That is puzzling. Are you sure you can hear the drivers door click when it doesn't work? I hope it's not the BCM, I'm pretty sure that is the only thing that controls the drivers lock seperatly.

Try to really narrow it down. Earlier you said it worked while driving 9 out of 10 times? I'm wondering if the extra voltage when it is running helps kick the actuator. If it clicks it is abviously getting a signal. Don't forget there are mechanical things happening too. (actuator and lock) Did you try lubing it? (3rd time I've meantioned this) ;) Good luck

Apparently they haven't fixed this issue yet. I have a 2021 with identical symptoms. Less than 10k on it. It's intermittent every few days and will do it with both fobs. Sometimes I don't realize until I return to find that the driver door didn't lock. It then the horn chirps until I put the key in the on position. Can't believe it would be a mechanical issue. Most likely electrical or computer.
Seems like one of those problems that mechanics will throw parts at until the problem goes away.
Is there a reset process that can work without having to pay the dealer.
