Having to replace my Heater Core on my 2018 Chevy Colorado w/25,000 miles on it. Major repair. Anyone else know of problems w/heater cores on 2018 models?

Just a few, over the course of 15-18 models. It’s a big job, the entire dash has to come out. Be glad it is under warranty. Several days in the shop. Get a loaner car. A link to a 17 model on this site.

If you go to the 2nd generation, Technical Section and scroll thru some pages, you will see others, some have pictures.

I understand your frustration, looks like you may be another one that gets added to the list of customers that are done with GM after this one.

My 2018 Colorado with 9000 miles is now awaiting a new heater core. REALLY caught me off guard to see that orange dex-cool puddled on the passenger side floor. I'm glad the Weather Tech floor mat was there to catch it. Talking to the Autonation Chevrolet dealer in Spokane Wa this is the fifth one to be replaced. Yet there is no recall or TSB's that I could find that addresses this situation.

Saw it today, it's all tore down waiting for the part(s). Talk about a strange looking duck, It didn't dawn on me to take a photo!!

I have one more year on the lease and then it will be gone.

2018 Chevy Colorado In the last month, I have had to replace the shifter (couldn't get the key out) the heater core, (had two inches of water on the passenger side floor) and the hood, ( was rusting on the front lip. Thank goodness this was all under warranty and the car dealership that did it was fantastic!

I found a site that lists the original TSB for the water gurgling/rushing sounds.

The initial entry was May 2015. And has 4 revisions after that. It also states this affects 2015-2019 Canyon./Colorado's.

AS Far as buying a foreign made car.... Our 2016 Subaru Outback had a problem removing the ignition key. The TSB was really good as it described the problem, listed the parts needed and even how to do the repair. All cars will have a problem either minor or major in their lifetime.

The GM TSB is really worthless.

Got my truck back today. Went to the dealer and got in the truck and pulled the seat belt strap only to see that it wasn't attached to the floor connector on both front seats. So, getting annoyed I had to wait for someone to correct this. Turns out the guy who fixed the truck came over and fixed this. Had a short conversation about the heater core. He worked on several 2015 and 2016 Colorado's but mine was his first 2018 for the heater core replacement.

I'll see how things go....
