Second LD trip since I bought this last September ( 2023) and beat THAT record 25.4 MPG. Took a 700 mile trip up into New Hampshire and Maine back roads etc. If this is correct, the average MPG was 27.8 MPG . For a truck that was unthinkable ... We used a quarter of a tank to get up there - Years ago my Ram used about a half a tank ( 2001 318 2 wheel drive ) Mostly highway but abut 30% back roads , I couldn't believe it ... Very happy with this ! Although as a commuter daily driver , I am averaging less than 22 most times due to traffic and stop and go .. Does anyone know the average / Expected MPG for this vehicle ? A friend has a 2015 and stated He was getting 32 MPG on the highway only .

My 19 seems to like 74. Was knocking down 24-25 going back and forth from NJ to upstate NY.

Thanks for the info Everyone ! Very impressed with this truck ! We averaged 65 on the way up but driving around we were averaging around 50 MPH so its highway and back road driving combined .. Next up tomorrow : Service time ! Oil change , rotate tires , check trans fluid to make sure the latest fluid is there but it ran fantastic, shifting great albeit first to second gear known problem , backup camera msg needs servicing as I get a mixed screen blue , rear camera picture.. Happened before when I bought it and I believe they reset it . All in all I loved this trip ! Sold me ! Glad I bought it !

my 3.6 22 averages almost 26 mpg on rural state hwy runs with 50-60 mph limits. All runs have been less than 100 miles. In the city, Memphis, it gets closer to 18 mpg. I rarely drive in the city. to and from work, it averages 21+.

My 07 f150 5.4 averaged less than 15.

Any numbers I state are hand calculated over a full tank just so there is no confusion.

I just filled up today again. Been trying to check my mileage because dash says 12-13mpg. My calculations match that. I idle my truck quite a bit though. If a 3.6l uses about .28-.36 gallons an hour at idle (Google says .08-.1 gallon per hour per liter of engine size) and I factor in a good guess how much I burn idling it comes up to about 14-16mpg, although 16mpg is very unlikely. It's probably more like 14.5.

I have a bed cover, I haven't taken off the air dam, I have BFG KO2s (not sure on size but they're pretty close to stock truck tire size). I try to keep it at 70 and below, I live in Houston so it's a pretty good mix of highway and city driving. I try to stay on freeways where I can, but I get off and go back ways when traffic gets to be bumper to bumper and crawling. Tires are at 34-36 psi.

I guess it's not too bad. I do have an issue where sometimes the truck is pulling to the side and sometimes it's not. I need to get the time to jack up the front and see if I can figure out why. I'm thinking a bushing or something might need to be replaced. I think that might be part of it.

Idling is a Huge Killer to MPG

They do really well in that 50-60 MPH ballpark if you go easy, most vehicles lately do. My dad is constantly going from seacoast NH to Jackson, drives easy, but gets 26 MPG out of a 6.2 powered 1500.

What really impresses me though is when I've got the cruise control set at 82 MPH for hours and see > 20 MPG ballpark in my 22 V6 - real world driving. Won't be so good with a headwind, or when slower traffic can't understand to stay right and has you on/off/on/off trying to maintain cruise, but lately I see that when conditions are mostly good.

What i miss on my 2018 canyon and 2022 colorado i dont have galons or liters used. Not all gas station pumps pump at the same speed, so going to the first click could be misleading.
My 2013 chevy cruze has galons/liters used feature, so after a 300mile trip see how many gallons used and do the calculations. I find this more accurate. To bad i dont have this option on the trucks.

I posted on another thread a few weeks ago I set the cruise on my 17 ZR2 with larger tires at the speed limit of 65mph and after 270 miles I got 23.2mpg, not bad for a 17/19 epa rating, that is with 2 clicks of the pump handle
there was no wind that day and fairly flat terrain.
if I head west I usually get 18mpg cause the speed limit is 70-75 and real hilly, hardly a flat spot for 400 miles
