Hello everyone! Im looking to get beefier tires without lifting or modifying my 2018 Canyon. I had settled on the 265/70/17 Falken Wildpeaks, but Im really liking the Goodrich KO2s, just not sure if I should get 255s or 265s. Im am worried about any rubbing as well. Anybody have any of these tires? Any advice?

I have 255/70/17 Wildpeaks AT3Ws on my stock canyon and have few complaints with them and no rubbing or fit issues. They've been great here in Utah winters with no problem getting through deepish snow (maybe 4-8" on top of blacktop, gravel roads) and have done great down in the desert as well as just being a good on road tire. So far I have about 34,000miles on the tires and they've got just a little over 5/32s tread depth on them left. If you don't drive mountain roads and canyons multiple times a week, I could see these tires lasting for awhile. I'll probably replace them in the spring if not sooner, around 40-45K if I had to guess total mileage and would buy them again.

However my friends have the new KO2 and only have good things to say about them so far on their Tacoma's.

really I don't think you can go wrong either way, just depends what tread pattern you like best.

I had the KO2s on my truck for 2 years. They hit my mpg hard, were heavy, and loud enough to hear on the highway. They looked amazing though lol. And the handful of times I was off road, I can tell they did their job. Not bashing the KO2s - if you offroad and have the money they will do you good.

Currently have the Wildpeaks. They are much lighter and you can feel it while driving. Only had them for 3 week and so far very happy. Havent hit a dirt trail with them yet. But so far they have done good in the rain.

what is on your truck now? 265/65's will fit wit no issues
255/70=31.1
265/65=30.6
265/70=31.7

in 265/70/17
with the KO's you are looking at 44 to 50lb tires, they list 3 tires c-d-e
255's they show one tire E/10ply at 50lbs

Falkens show one tire C/6 ply46.5 lbs 255/70 are C/6 ply 42.3 lbs

wow i did not notice how much a difference they weigh... I have 265/70R17 KO2s on now, and I love them compared to the duratracs it had prior. I had planned on the wildpeaks for my truck, but due to a trade, I got 3 KO2, so i bought 2 more and used them instead. I really like how the KO2 performs off road and on, but im still intrigued by the Falken Wildpeaks.. I have heard good things from them.

The KO2's I have on my K2500 are terrible in rain for braking and accelerating traction. However they are load range E and I run between 55-80 psi. The other reviews on Tirerack don't mention any issues with wet traction though, and they do work well in mud and rocks.

I can't comment on either because I have no experience but if you want me to add to the confusion I can highly recommend the Toyo Open Country AT3's. They are the same 3peak rated as the Wildpeaks, about 4 lbs less each tire, and are about the same cost. I think my only negative on these tires is that they do not look quite as aggressive as the Falkens, but on road and off road in the wet, ice, and snow they are amazing. Didn't mean to send you off in a different direction but thought you might like an alternative.

Recently installed some Wildpeak AT3W's on my ZR2 and have been super happy with them so far. Went slightly up in size to 265/70/17. Haven't really taken it off roading yet but they have been plenty quiet on the road so far and literally every person I have spoken to with the same tires gave rave reviews about them.

Pics here: 265/70/17 will these Rub on a stock 2021 zr2 suspension?

I have 265/70/17 wildpeaks on my ‘16 and I love them. Snow, sand, gravel, and highway miles have all felt great. I have ko2s on my first gen Colorado work truck and I’m not a fan. They are much louder at lower speeds. They feel good on and off-road but the noise turns me off. My wildpeaks look much more aggressive and are quieter and have better road manners. I believe the ko2s on my work truck are e-rated? and they are a bit old, so I’m not sure if that contributes to the noise.
