Engine fans run and temp gauge won't work

Hello. I have a 2016 Diesel Colorado. When the AC is turned on, it cools for about 10 minutes. Then quits, the engine fan will run the whole drive ( sounds like a Detroit truck) and temperature Guage will not work. In the winter, I had no heat, temperature Guage wouldn't work and fan ran all time. Replace the temperature gauge sensor and worked for about 2 months. Then went to the problem of AC not staying on. Would it me this switch again? The switch is hard to get to. Any one know what's going on?

This is a common problem with the V6 but didn't seem to be common with the diesel, but the lack of heat is key here. Your thermostat is likely stuck open and the computer is defaulting to a failsafe mode in case the sensor isn't working properly. The fan staying on is also an indicator of the failsafe. The sensor won't cause lack of heat.

But before you replace the thermostat you should check your coolant level. Is it low? If it's not low then replace the thermostat. If it's low then top it off, drive it to purge the air, check the level again, and once the level stabilizes and remains full see if that fixes your issue.

Yup, with the coolant level being correct but getting no heat that's classic thermostat stuck open behavior.
