Dark Cherry Red - Too Cherry?

I'd originally ruled out the Dark Cherry Red for my (soon to be) new Colorado because I thought it was more Cherry than Dark. But yesterday I saw one at a dealer that wasn't as bad as I'd remembered. It was overcast outside, so that probably made it darker than it would look in full sunlight.

Just looking for other opinions on the Dark Cherry Red... thx!

When I went looking for my truck, given the configuration I wanted, choices in colours were not huge.

White (no thanks), black (not good for stone chips, and hot summers) and Dark Cherry Red.

Since the day I saw it, I loved it. It's not quite red, not quite cherry, not quite burgandy, but something in between.

If you put a good wax on it, the colour REALLY depens and looks fantastic.

When I get a vehicle I dont make decisions on just the color I look for the configuration I want then I pick between the colors. When I got mine in cherry red I wanted a orange truck but all the dealer had was white or red in the truck I wanted. This is the second vehicle I've owned in a darker red 1st was a 1996 sebring coupe and I have to say that this color is about the nicest when cleaned up. Red vehicles catch attention that is why some insurance companys charge a little more for red cars due to the attention from cops.

I wasn't presented with much of a color choice either. All the local dealers had were black, yellow, white, and one dark cherry. I wasn't a big fan of red, really wanted silver birch, but like gmiller1977 said its a perfect in between color. The only dark cherry red metallic in my area was a 4x2 Z71 and I wanted a Z71 4x4. My salesman tried to locate one but couldn't. So I went back to the lot to see the only 4x4 Z71 crew they had and as we are standing talking a transport truck pulled up and had the exact truck I was looking for as far as options and price and it was dark cherry red metallic. The truck just stood out from the 2 other Colorados on the transport. I ended up getting the Dark Cherry Red Metallic and I love it. I get more compliments on not only the looks but on the color. Although these trucks just look good period in my opinion.

There is too much Cherry in sunlight like you remember but I liked that part of it. The truck has different colors depending on the amount of sunlight and that makes it cool to me. I did not pick mine from color but they had a  PUKE 8) GREEN one and the Cherry on the lot like I wanted it and I had to take Red!!!!!

BZERK...Want to go to the bathroom with me? Cause I guess I am girly too :rofl :rofl :rofl

I don't think it is to dark. Or to cherry.

The superior blue metallic is the same. I guess it must just be the metallic in the paint. I was just giving you guys a hard time. Like I said I looked at one too. But blue suited me the best.

Dark Cherry Red

Great color, I love it.

I have only had one other red car, it was an MGB. Crappy red and crappy car but it looked super cool.

I don't usually like red cars or trucks but the dark cherry red is like the candy apple red metal flake that was used on the hot rods of the late 50's and early 60's and is one of my all time favorite colors. It's a super color, be glad we can get it. I have it on a 2005 Z-71 crew cab with matching red flairs. The color can change shades quite a bit depending on the light the truck is in. Neat effect.

I went with the spray in Rhino bed liner, GM rail covers, and GM tail gate spoiler. The truck is really looking good.

This gas mileage is an average of 11 fill ups - 20.36 mpg.

It's getting better as the truck breaks in, at the last fill-up it was 21.76 mpg.

This is a mix of city 25% and highway 75%. No sissy driving either, lots of high speed when called for (going with the traffic flow). Unfortunately there is also a lot of idling when traffic slows down to a crawl because of an accident or even a dog going to the bathroom on the side of the highway.

All in all this truck is fun to drive.
