Hi guys, so in anticipation of the sweet deal I got on some morimoto LEDs for my truck, from our very own classifieds, I wanted to print some nicer dust caps.

I saw a few colorado STLs online (there was a thread on here too) but those have 5 tabs/the dimensions were not accurate, but the canyon only has 4. There might exsist a cap like this you can buy on ebay but this was faster for me. The first print came out great but the model needs a few tweaks, once I print something that actually fits Ill post up the STL for you guys.

I'm printing in PLA for now but for the final parts I think ABS + an acetone vapor bath to seal/smooth the part would be best for this application.

lol V2 is printing today well see if I got it right this time. I was a hair too big on that inner diameter lip, and I also didnt notice that the reason the cap has that indicator is because two of the tabs are smaller so I fixed that and added a small nub to indicate the top. Made the whole thing 0.5" shorter overall too since it seemed like I went way overkill.

Alright well I got my model where I want it, for ABS I had to undersize everything a little bit since it doesn't shrink as much as PLA. I also am playing with the process settings in simplify 3D to do full infill for the lock collar and layers above since its too easy to break off currently. Yes I plugged my website, mind you its hidden inside and this is free so, sorry not sorry =P

Current Settings are:

3D Solutech Navy Blue Filament (1.75mm)
Bed: 110C
Extruder 230C
Layers 0-42mm Infill 15%
Layers 42mm-up Infill 100%
Supports ON

Have Fun!!
