Hey! I’m new to the community and I’m looking to buy a 1st Gen Colorado, it would really fit all my needs. I’m looking from 2005-2010 Colorado Crew Cab, are there any concerns I should have about Colorados? Are they reliable? Any suggestions or recommendations for me? Thanks so much.

Try to grab a 09+

They got a front brake upgrade and redesigned ABS system.

They all leak water in the cab but they are not too bad to fix.

I’d recommend trying to find one with a 5.3 to get the most reliable combination possible imho. Look for frame rust on all years and avoid buying one with rust because there are too many out there for sale to compromise.

All the front differentials leak at the axle seals and the steering rack bushings are junk from the factory regardless of year. Both easy fixes.

Mine has proved to be very reliable but that doesn’t mean it didn’t require some love to stay that way.

Overall they are a good small truck that will last if proper maintenance is performed.
