battery junction box cable

Hey guys,

I recently replaced the battery in my 2017 Colorado. The nut to tighten the cable to the positive post was really difficult to turn. I ended up over-torquing it which made the square back section spin in place and I can no longer fully tighten the nut. I found a what looks like a replacement on amazon, but the compatibility reference on the top of the page says that the cable does not work with my truck. I've searched for genuine GM cables as well as knock-offs, but this is the closest I've been able to find to a replacement. Does anyone know for sure? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Here is the Amazon link:

are yu looking for the whole cable or just the square headed bolt

here is the cable

I suppose I'm just looking for the square head bolt/nut combo - the cable is fine. The nut is unbelievably tight though. I might have to just use a Dremel to cut it off.

Might not help if the clamp was chunked out, allowing the square back to spin. If so, I was thinking a crescent wrench can hold the square back in place to snug down the nut.
It's definitely chunked out and the nut is fused in place. You can see the metal shavings in the pic. I thought I was breaking the nut loose but I was actually cutting into the clamp. I was able to tighten it enough to where I feel comfortable enough until I get a good replacement bolt/nut though. I may just have to cut the bolt off the whole cable and just replace that.

Slap a bolt out of your stash on it to get it tight and then order an OEM cable or find something at Autozone, etc.

On my first car, a 1978 LTDII, I snapped a corroded bolt on one of my battery clamps. I used a pair of vice grips to get me to the auto parts store to buy a replacement.

I personally do my best to avoid Amazon. I would rather drive over to a local store to purchase items I need if you can find them, even if I have to pay more. Sadly, for a lot of items, Amazon is the only choice.

I bet you can buy one of those replacement clamps at Autozone and just use the bolt off of it.
Good idea using just the hardware from a replacement clamp. I'm sure I can find a similar size. I love that you used vice grips to get to the auto parts store for a replacement. You do what you gotta do sometimes! haha
