Hey Guys,

So we were lucky enough to have a local customer stop by the other day with his ZR2.

After taking some measurements and playing around with CAD, the ZR2 has a different frame, arms and spindles.

But, we will have a Prerunner kit for it!

Here is a break down on the kit...

- 1.5" wider for more stability
- 11" wheel travel
- Same custom King 2.5" coilover as the ones we use now for the Colorado
- Can run a bypass shock
- You will now be able to adjust the ride height.
- Our arms are more heavy duty and more durable
- Will not work with stock shock
- Will lose sway bar
- Need Method wheels

The only 2 things we need to check out are the axles to make sure the spline count is the same as the standard Colorado and the tie rods,

That is very easy for us to do.

The same customer will be coming in and dropping off his truck for us to do the build

I will keep everyone updated with pictures.

If anyone else is interested, please email me at JT@Bajakits.com

We can definitely work out a deal for you.

Thanks

JT

What was the frame difference? There was an interesting thread about ZR2 parts swapping onto a non Z Twin.

Curious if the wider stance comes solely from A arms, or the frame is also wider.

Post back when you find out if the spline count is the same, please. I'm eventually going to put a ZR2 front diff in my Z71, and one of the up in the air questions is spline count.

I will definitely keep you posted on this.

Will be interested on how this will impact the ride over the factory. How much does this cost?
Retail on the kit is $3699 - shocks sold separately.

We can definitely work out a packaged deal for you.

Just email me at jt@bajakits.com

Kit is going to be the very similar as the one we have out already for the non ZR2

Well a uniball set up is inherently going to have durability/strength benefits over a traditional ball joint set up. I'm sure there are other benefits, but I'll let JT cover those ;)

Install is scheduled is scheduled for the middle/end of February.

I will definitely keep everyone posted on this.

Thanks

Tell me about those lights in the grill?

See if that stock upper control arm joint at the knuckle can be replaced with a high articulation one! That will give a bunch more travel! At least let us max out the axle...

Are you doing a spring under axle in the rear? What are specs? Will it come with a plate?

Here are couple pictures of the truck.

More pictures of the Suspension and the truck very soon...

I'm sure this is a great kit, but why anyone would pay the extra money on the ZR2 just to ditch the suspension, which is basically 90% of why you payed more for the truck in the first place, would rip it off for this swap is beyond me. But to each his own, and I wish JT the best of luck with their kit.

The ZR2 suspension is a great set up. The customer thought it would be enough but for what the customer plans on doing with the truck, he needed a little more.

Look at the Raptor guys...off the lot, it's a great set up.

Half the guys are tearing it apart and dropping $50K on top of it.

It happens!

So, here are a few pictures that we took a couple weeks ago testing the new ZR2 set up!!

Not yet. There is not much space to work with down there.

This is how a ZR2 should look... Which Method wheels are those? Would you recommend any minor upgrades outside of just swapping the entire suspension system over to a full Bajakits solution?
The Grids.

We didn't have to upgrade anything on this build besides the standard stuff that is included with the set up.

Are you guys using the stock steering rod ends? Also, Any chance on an upper arm that fits the stock shock and loser arm? Something with that nice ball up there? I dream of a new upper arm, new steering linkage thats stronger and has more articulation....and a droop strap and hydro/air bump....
Stock tie rods with a custom tie rod extension.

We are currently in development on an OEM replacement Upper arm.

Nothing is set in stone just yet.

Unfortunately we have nothing.

We had a video/photo shoot lined up with Method during the Mint 400 but the customer couldn't make it out

Is the reason for the method wheel need (or 0 offset need) to keep the tire away from the upper control arm at the uniball location?

Would it be possible to make these another 1.5-2 inches wider to fill McNeil fenders? Something with a new shock tower for a dual rate c/o?

I’m trying to plan out when these multimatics go pop.
