I put some deep thought into both and went with a fully-loaded AT4. I‘m just not too into the Denali looks, it’s a bit too blingy for me. I do prefer the darker look of the AT4 grill. The 20 inch wheels look more street fashionable than the 18’s on the AT4. I also intend to install retractable running board when available, so the Denali running boards would be wasted on me. I will miss the Denali 12” IC for sure, but I’m thinking most of the tech features I need will be on the Infotainment screen.

I think the color combination on the interior on the denali is nicer but the exterior look on the AT4 is better to me... The brown color on the AT4 interior is too... I guess bright for me, the sand color on the denali accent is clean looking by comparison.

I have a 2015 GMC Canyon All Terrain and figured I would get everything I wanted this time around and went with a black Denali with a sunroof. The wife has a 2016 Camaro RS convertible and we really love all of the tech features it has like memory seats and the HUD, so we figured we would get a truck with similar creature features. Sunroof was an option I wish the 2 gen trucks had and was almost thinking of having one put in when I found their new trucks were going to have that as an option, so decision was made to get a new truck. I am 58, so like most of you getting Denali's, this is my planned last major truck purchase.

Which truck would you pick, AT4 or Denali?

I am bouncing around between these two at the moment. Both have good points, but only the Denali has the 11-inch cluster. The AT4 8-inch cluster size could be offset with the heads-up display, which is standard on the Denali.

You can option up the AT4 to have the same standard options on the Denali, but they come out at nearly the same price, about a $1,000 difference. Denali has a nicer interior, in my opinion.

On the Chevy side, I lean toward ZR2 but don't need the extra offroad goodies.

AT4 or Denali-Opinions
Cannot get the dynamic Blue with the Denali. Deal killer as wife wants that color. Wonder why?

Well I ordered my Denali Black Edition yesterday with a build date of May 9th. So that’s the way I went.
How did you get a build date that fast??

If you compare the tire size measurements (using any of the online tire size comparison tools) the standard 265/65R18 on the AT4 are 31.6" tall and the 275/60R20 on the Denali are 33" so yup, Denali should have a bit more ground clearance.
I would double check that. The first AT4 I reserved had 20s specced by the dealer and when I built one on the site and chose the 20" wheels it removed the 2" lift. If that's the case then the Denali (or an AT4 with 20s) would actually have 0.4" less clearance. I ended up getting an AT4 with 18s which is what I really wanted for off-roading purposes and I wanted the maximum clearance.

The canyons all have the lift, regardless of trim or tires. The 20" all terrain tires are actually taller than both 18" options.

I'm personally really struggling between the ZR2 and an AT4. I think the zr2 is cooler and IMO looks better, but the interior looks so much worse in my eyes than the AT4 interior. The AT4 is just classier. But that 11" digital dash is real tempting on the ZR2. I'll probably have to wait until I can sit in both before making a decision... whenever that will be

20's are standard on a Denali as is the 2" lift. The 20's are 275 60R 20 which is a 33" tire. 22's are optional

Doesn’t look like you can order the a winch from GMC yet. I think a lot of accessories aren’t available yet since they are so new. I want an electric tonneau cover but nothing shows up for the Caynon yet. The Colorado pulls up but not the Caynon. Hopefully in June when I get my Denali more stuff will be available.

An electric tonneau cover? Like a motorized retractable one? That sounds like a great idea actually.
