Ok I'm getting a message when I start my truck that says 4WD service that just started tonight. I have never had it in 4WD nor have I had it off road. I have a Canyon if that is needed info. Thanks for any help.
Hope this is my problem. Took it in and they replaced the connector. Message came back. I'll show them this forum and hopefully the super grease works or its just a loose wire.Update on this older thread. It was just a loose wire in the actual 4WD switch. Was at the dealer about an hour. I wonder if maybe my knee hit the switch because it is in a weird place as we all know? Either way it was an easy quick fix. I gotta say I really, really love this truck. Its actually better than I expected and I had kinda high expectation. Its in my opinion a very fun pickup to drive. I have recently noticed the infamous "hunting for gears" but that is just for fuel economy. A bit annoying but I understand why its happening so I don't get crazy about it, it is what it is as they say.
Crazily enough they spent all day on it, had to call GM tech support, and even mentioned that my DRL install could of done it. Picking up my truck in the morning because "the 4WD fuse was loose. We replaced it and no message so far." Of all things and that's the last thing they checked? Still, hope it's really fixed.I had the same issue with a service 4wd message... and actually on mine the wiring harness to the transfer case was rubbing against a piece of metal and it tore through the harness, they replaced the wiring and moved the bracket or whatever was in the way. No issues since.
