I get around 17 mpg on my 24 ZR2 about 1600 miles in. Mostly city and mountain highways

 

I've got right around 4600 miles on my 23 and am averaging right at the 16 mpg that is posted on the window sticker. I would say I am also in the same 75% city/25% highway you will be in.

My ZR2 is a 2023 with 3,600 miles on it now I've kept track of MPG since new with Fuelly.
Environment is high desert, 4,000 feet, with lots of hilly/mountainous terrain.

Since new my overall average is 17.8 mpg. That includes several times towing my travel trailer and off road use.
Average is 19.15 mpg if I don't figure in the times I hauled the trailer.
Best fill was 20.02 mpg.

 

23 Desert Boss. If I baby it at 55 I can get 21mpg, in the city I average 15-17. My commute is also very short.

 

I’m getting an average between 16.1 to 18. Less on highway than in town. Headwind makes a huge difference. Keep it under 2000 rpm and it’s above 16. I have 13000 miles on her.

 

23-24 on highway, 12-18 in city depending on how I drive.. my overall average is 18-19 combined. On highway I use adaptive cruise at 65 or 70 depending on where I'm at.

 

Just over 5k miles and average 19-21mpg per tank. But it really depends on how you drive it can easily drop to 16-18mpgs if you not constantly paying attion on your driving.

2023 Desert Boss with 6,500 miles:
- Lifetime average 16.4 Mpg
- Best 450 miles 18.4 Mpg

Obviously I get best mileage on highways between 55 and 70.

What kills my mileage is my very short commute. I get in the truck. Fire her up, drive a whopping 1 mile to the train station park, hop on train for the rest of my commute in. Reverse it in the evening. As it is warming up outside, no longer remote starting her 5 minutes before I get in - the only thing needing clearing from my windshield now is pollen, not frost.

On tanks where i am mainly commuting, the commute drives my mpg down to 13-15. The flip side is with that short commute, a tank of mainly commuting lasts a while!

 

There will be a good spike in the MPG, winter gas has finally left us.
Still too early for me to post, not enough tanks to build my proper average, but I can see it climbing steadily.
Its the new normal for me, take advantage of working more from home (I don't even have a proper office at work anymore, I only go in for visits, then I compact my jobsites to 1 day a week visits)
There is a plus side being the old guy heading for retirement (if they let me)

 

True. I usually see a 1-2 mpg bump when the winter blend gas goes away.

Went from a 3.0 Silverado. Driving 110
Miles a day all freeway. 70 mph speed limit Got about 30 mpg. My commute is shorter and mostly 55 and 60 mph highways now 60 miles a day. I traded down to the 23 zr2 Regular fuel my 7000 mile lifetime average is almost 21 (20.6) that includes several
Trips up and down the mountains and pulling lawn equipment and beach driving ft fisher I expect 21 mpg every fill
Up in normal conditions. And usually around 375-400 miles between fill ups.

 

2024 ZR2 -- I do 95% city driving and average about 17-17.5MPGs. I thought that was pretty low at first so I used a calculator based on my gallons on a fill-up and it was slightly higher but still less than 18. On an hour long highway trip (60miles @ 70mph), I got a hair over 18mpg.

 

Hey just wondering with all the different fuel MPG's what tire pressure are you running? I run mine @42 psi. Seems to ride fine there also.

 

I run 36 psi in the tires. Just got a small compressor so I can start airing down to 20 psi off road.

23' z71 average 21.3 mpg.

 

23' ZR2 Colorado. Started out at 11 mpg.
Now 2200 miles and currently at 15.8.

When brand new, we had stuff that had to be done. So, with 32 miles on the odometer, drove from dealer home and hooked up to our 6x10 enclosed utility trailer with about 500 lbs of furniture, went on a 500 mile tow. So the first 1000 miles were towing.

I can't expect more than the window sticker of 16 mpg. If it ends up being more, then I consider it a bonus. If it ever gets 21 I will be tickled pink. Do I think it should get more....absolutely. But this is all we can expect because the same thing happened in the 80's. They put tiny engines in the Caprice and they got less mpg than the V8's because they were always working hard. It takes X amount of energy to move X amount of weight.

December 2024 update: Once it hit 5000 miles, mpg improved. From 11 to 21 mpg. Obviously doing 55 or above kills the mileage. But 17-19 is achievable at posted speed limit on highway.

 

2018 ZR2 2.8 baby max about 24000 miles 40000km total avg is 32.47 mpg or 8.7 ltrs per 100km. I can get 7/7.2 ltr per 100km if I really try hard. Ya its a pavement princess that sits in a heated garage covered up. Its also afraid of the dark. Not winter driven either.

 

I just drove 30 miles in my 2024 Colorado ZR2 and averaged 24.8 MPG while babying it around 1500 RPM and going 55-65mph

 

Drive a whole tank then hand calculate, more accurate

 

I get 19.8 mpg on my 2024 ZR2, down from 20.0 last month, assuming the colder temps gives me worse gas milage. And when I fill up I use to see over 400 miles estimated on my dash now it's like 388.

 

I have to take gas out of mine🤪

 

Its not 100% the colder temps (unless you ready warm up the truck before driving).. its the winter gas as well. Expect at least 2+ mpg less than the summer norm
