Same situation as me. Have battery tender on all the time, not hard wired yet
I did the same when I had my 2019 Colorado bought new for 5 years. I'm an old fart and mainly drive around town. I had a hard wired battery tender on the truck I plugged in every time I was done driving for the day, year round. I do the same on my new 2023 Buick Envision Avenir.

I used to store my TransAm WS6 over the Winter Months
The plan was to start is and let it run Once a Month
I was always able to do that
But, Therre no Infotainment Center and all the Computer Safety Features that Require Testing by the Computer

Sometimes I went almost 2 months without starting and it was fine

The Vehicles produced with all the Cool Fomputer Features and Wondurful Safety Features
Require Power to Operate Them
That Power comes from your Battery
That Battery takes a Minimum (Under Load(Means Driving)) of 20 Minutes to Recharge after Starting

The Computerized Systems in the Vehicle are going to do "Health Checks" of themselves
That takes power

If the Battery has been Dead a bunch of times
It is never going to propery charge again
Replace It
Save Yourself the Aggravation

Old school vs new school. I always stored my first couple of cars for winter, December to March, they always just started up.
I started using tenders on my wife's car in 2012 give or take after going through 3 batteries, she only drove once a week for her local milkrun. Followed by my Jeep which was my weekend toy. (Also dead batteries)
My 3rd gen is heading for the same fate of lack of daily use.
Probably put the tender on a timer as well, don't think it needs to run 24/7

You probably know but you can leave Battery Tender plugged in running all the time. When battery is fully charged it goes into maintenance mode and can’t overcharge your battery instead of using a timer.

Yeah I know.. its the old school in me that hates having something plugged it when not needed. I have the same aguement with the wife when she leaves lights on in all the rooms we are not in.
The bad side of tenders on timers is it recharges once power is restored vs staying at maintenance level... Just my brain fart logic to use one.

I’m 79 just me and my dog and I still always turn out a light if it’s on when I leave a room. 😊

The Noco smart 1 battery tender reads the battery level and does not send anymore power to the battery after it reads its full. I leave it.on my motorcycle all winter and summer because extreme hot and cold can drain the battery

New update on my 2023 Colorado - Since the service related to the dead battery issue was performed around April 25th, I have not had a dead battery event, but I also went 4 months last year between dead battery events. I took the truck back in on May 23rd and left it until May 28th, and they still have not solved the random/periodic Adaptiver Cruise Control being Unavailable problem. They made no progress on getting the Auto On/Off to shut off at stops. I'm about ready to call the GM warranty, repair complaint line I found in a Google Search (566-636-2273). Has anyone tried calling GM and did it result in any solutions?

I have a 2023 z71 purchased new in May 2023 now with 13,600 miles. Dead battery three times in the past four months. The first they said it was the failed OTA update so they manually installed. Second time they said it was a bad battery so they replaced it. Most recent time they determined there was a random slow draw but after 4 days of testing to try and isolate, the issue could not be pinpointed. GM service support then instructed dealership tech to reprogram every module in the truck. They returned the truck to me today and stated that I should monitor the vehicle.

My question is if anyone else has had all the modules reprogrammed in their 2023 twin after having battery issues and whether they have experienced a battery issue after this "fix."

I have not had a dead battery, but it was a maintenance item in my monthly reports.
Brought in my truck for service last month, mentioned the battery (I actually was expecting a new battery)
They came back with a parasitic draw update needed.
From my bill > here is what is listed if it helps anyone (have to translate from French)

PIT6042B parasitic drain caused by serial data gateway, battery still good
update for serial data gateway > test OK

On a side note, my Auto Stop never worked from day one, it started working after a day of driving after the update.

I have not had all modules reprogrammed to my knowledge unless applying these two service bulletins required them to do so, (January 2024 Battery Drain OTA Issue - Service Update N232425820, and the 2023 Battery Drain OTA Issue - Service Update N232411313). As mentioned previously, I have not had a dead battery issue since those two were performed on April 25. I just can't get the dealer to fix the Adaptive Cruise Control so it works every time engaged, or the Auto On/Off. Both of those worked prior to having a dead battery. In response to Xcanuk a day ago, I need to ask my dealer if they performed the PIT6042B parasitic drain caused by serial data gateway fix when I had it in on May 23rd. Maybe that will fix the Auto On/Off.

I hate to say it but I have joined this post after leaving my 2023 Canyon in the garage all weekend. Monday morning it would not turn over or not even turn on a dome light everything was 100% dead with 4v at the battery. I had to jump it but it took a good 20 min of the doner car running with the cables connected before it turned over. That's when all hell broke lose with every idiot light and warning came up from "Service ESC", "Brake Failure", "Service traction control" and "roll down drivers window"? I tried to drive it around the block with no luck as it would not go into gear. I then waited 2 hours with a trickle charger and came back jump it again. This time the doner car had to stay running about 5 min and it turned over. all the same alerts came on but this time I was able to drive it but the brakes were almost none existent. I drove around the block to see if it would help charge and a 5th warning popped up saying not to exceed 43MPH..."GM must have a sense of humor" even so I was going to go early in the AM the next day to drop it off at service. Lucky for me after leaving it with the trickle charger all night the next morning it turned over and the brakes worked but all the other warnings were still there. It's been at the dealer since, I'm on day 2.....it only has 2900 miles.

I did notice that after having the truck for 2 months the auto stop wouldn't stay off for a entire red light cycle even with all AirCon turned off. Then another 2 months is just stopped working all together so this tells me the battery was slowing draining all this time. I also noticed after parking the truck 5-10 min later the relays would all start clicking like crazy and the fan blower motor would blow high inside the truck for about 5 min. Also my emergency braking system would always have false alarms while driving and it once braked on me for no reason in the middle of a 3 lane road. I've owned 20+ vehicles mainly German some Japanese and this is my second American car (the 1st was a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee) that was the most expensive car to service so I got rid of it. This is my 1st GM product...wow I'm so disappointed.

Welcome to the club! I have seen all of those warnings and issues over the year I have owned my 2023 Colorado Z71 now with 7,000 miles. I have a claim opened with General Motors Customer Care now, and my dealer is opening a TAC with GM. Hopefully I'll get someone at corporate that can stop this madness. I have not had a dead battery event since April when I had the dealer perform these serve bulletins (January 2024 Battery Drain OTA Issue - Service Update N232425820, and the 2023 Battery Drain OTA Issue - Service Update N232411313). But I still have no Auto On/Off and intermittant ACC Unavaiable.

I bought my truck in October and I've since put approximately 7,600 miles on it, no starting or voltage issues until this morning. The truck sat in the driveway over the weekend and was dead when I tried to go to work this morning. I got it started with a jump box, got all of the esc/abs/driver window messages, had basically no brake pedal, etc. Cycling the ignition fixed everything except the cel, so I took it straight to the dealership. I also turned off updates over wifi and updates in the background in the Updates preference settings. My truck doesn't have ACC, we'll see how the auto stop/start works when I get it back from the dealer. I told them I had the trailer brake controller issue when I dropped it off as well.

Dang in June of 24' and dead batteries from over the air updates still? Man i widh they would have fixed that the first 8 times it seems to have happened to all the other 3rd gens

Well it happened again. Truck sat for 3 days and this is with a new battery after the last time. Completely dead.
you shouldn't have to but these over the air updates causing vampire electric draw you may have to keep it on a trickle charger. Shouldn't have to but if it keeps you from being late to work with a dead battery and having to wait for it to come out of the shop, maybe its a good idea. I use a Noco Genius 1 for my motorcycle with SAE connection so plug and play.

Truck sits curbside so a trickle charger won’t work for me. At this point I’m considering pursuing a buyback process and going to a different brand. Really like the truck but this is just becoming a pain now. My new 24 BMW sat for almost 3 weeks without moving when I was away on a trip and started up just fine when I got home.
