Has anyone thought of putting the eBay i5 turbo manifold on the i4 2.9. It put the i5 exhaust manifold gasket on i4 head and it matched up perfectly with the exception of the 5th exhaust port, I figured you can cut off the excess flange and use the 5th exhaust port and and external waste gate.

I'm no turbo expert, everyone on the colorado/canyon Facebook groups says those ebay kits are junk.

There is a forced induction section on 355nation.net of you want to look at set ups

Do You mean just use the manifold to delete the Factory Manifold with cat or actually try to run a Turbo which is a bad idea since these engines run 10:1 Compression ratio to high for a turbo on a stock engine you just be blowing engine parts out the bottom .

Yea I was wanting to use the manifold to run a turbo since they’re no production 2.9 turbo manifolds on the market. A 10.1 ratio isn’t that bad the i5 runs the same ratio and I have haven’t heard anything bad from them yet.

Yes the I4 & I5 both have 10:1 turbo really need somewhere around 8:1 or lower on a NON Turbo Factory Stock engine Plus the pistons probably want last long since there not designed for the extra temps the turbo will be generating it may work ok if only running 2-3 pounds boost which probably all it can do since like GregDAP said everybody that has tried one said it was junk !
There NO Way Those Atlas engines can handle any Major Turbo Boost without doing some Major upgrades Pistons, Rods , Crank , Cylinder head work .

All successful turbo setups I've seen on these engines are custom and not running stock internals.... they can't handle it. Some low boost setups have lasted a little while with stock parts
