These trucks are pretty quick off the line. At highway speeds though they could use some more power. If I hang onto this one for awhile some power mods will be in store.

My trip to the track last Thursday, kind of disappointing. I forgot to bring my laptop to make adjustments.
2015 Extended cab, 2WD
Just sad...

You are now stricken from considerations list for future modifications.

Went back out today really hoping to break 14.5. Instead I was treated to strong consistency. I got 3 runs in and every one was a 14.6. So close with a 14.61. I just need to come back with my other wheel/tire set, a tank closer to empty, and leave the subs at home. Then I'll hit that elusive bone stock 14.5

I did get a win against a 2015 v6 challenger, so the night wasn't a total loss.

You need some cool dry Fall weather. When the density altitude drops you better be lined up at the christmas tree to take advantage of those wonderful negative DA (below sea level) days!

Time Slips Attached.

That consistency! Ignoring my R/T anyway.

The one against the challenger is in the middle. Despite a solid launch, they were slightly slower than their magazine time of 14.8. I noticed, like last time, most of the other stock cars were a few tenths slower than their best magazine times.

Using L4 instead of D did pick me up 1mph consistently vs my last runs so yay for that.

I'm curious what ran a 27@78MPH?

If I recall correctly (?), when the "new" Dodge Challengers came out, they were running mid-14's also. That was with the 5.7l V8. :wink2:
So this "mid-size" V6 truck rivals the V8 muscle car. :smile2:

That car you raced against on one of those slip's... 1.68 60' with a 13.0 @ 102

Reminds me of back in the 90's when I had a modified Eagle Talon turbo AWD. Did a best of 13.0 @ 104 with a 1.6x 60'

I had a slightly modified (Headers, mild cam, Edelbrock intake) first gen Camaro that ran 13.6 at 108 mph on street tires. I think it weighed about 3400-3600 lbs. So pretty great that our V6 4x4 midsize trucks are close to that with a S/C.

Yeah I was surprised to see the 17+ with the LGZ and 8-speed good for mid-high 14s in the magazines. Deceptively quick for a truck.

For comparison the quickest 3rd gen Fbodies (82-92) with the 350 only ran a few ticks quicker, around 14.4 for a good pass. Before I had my SS Sedan (went 12.5@112 with a couple bolt ons) I drove a '12 Regal GS (270hp) that was only good for a 14.7 and it was embarrassingly considered a link to the famed Turbo Buicks of yore. Or another laughable comparison, the revered 454 SS C/K pickup of the early 90s was over a second slower with about a 10mpg penalty.

If I recall correctly .... My 84 IROC Z did 15 flat. Sad....
It sure felt faster...
My SS did 13 flat. Man I was hoping for 12.9! ahaha

Back in the day I ordered a brand new 1999 Chevy S-10 Xtreme regular cab short bed stepside with a Manual transmission 5 speed Vortec V6 4.3 liter and added exhaust, air intake, programmer, and a B&M Short Shifter. I loved that truck and wish I still had it. Took it to the track a few times and the fastest I ever ran was a 15.2. Never seen a regular with V6 ever again. Now I have a Colorado 2017 Z71 2wd midnight edition and love it. Can't believe it's faster than my Extreme was.
