It works!! I put a 4.2 throttle body on my 3.5. Takes a couple of wide open runs for the computer to adjust, but it pulls a lil harder on the top end, feels like a lil more tourque.

I measured the trailblazer vs. my stock. I garuntee the trailblazer TB is DEFINITLY .030 larger then the stocker. I've noticed a decent gain. Just ask stocker2, he drove my truck yesterday, and it pulls like a train. It definitly has more power beyond the standard intake exhaust tune colly. but untill I get on the dyno nobody will give me credit....
If I had an 07 to test electronics on I would be able to confirm if it will work or not....maybee I will test grease monkey's truck when it comes in next week for the exhaust.bigtex said:will the 05 trailblazer TB fit the 07 3.7L I5? i cant imagine why it wouldnt unless im missing something?
RATIFIED said:XHRcustoms, do you have a before dyno? I would like to see the numbers under the curve. Peak numbers look good on paper, but its whats under the curve that really matters!![]()

pretty easy to answer really..Canyon04Z71 said:Why is a 4.2L Trailblazer throttle body larger than a 5.3L Monte Carlo throttle body?
Thanks for the feedback. It was tough for me to grasp the fact that such a small amount of change would make such a big difference but I have been sold after hearing feedback from those completing the mod.Othelious said:pretty easy to answer really..Canyon04Z71 said:Why is a 4.2L Trailblazer throttle body larger than a 5.3L Monte Carlo throttle body?
Your TB has to be big enough to flow the air needed to fill your cylinder while your running...
the 4.2 i6 has more volume per cylinder than the 5.3l v8...
4.2/6 = .7l per cylinder...
5.3/8 = .66l per cylinder...
you need a larger TB to flow the air to fill the larger cylinder.
the 5.3 would probably get good advantage from the more air, just like we do on ours.. but why ours is more restricted than the 4.2's don't know.. as we have the same volume per cylinder... ( and .03 inches doesn't sound like much.. but does make quite a diff in performance )
