Bison built, awaiting shipping/delivery....yet prior to arriving hoping to hear ideas on how to secure the very visible spare tire in the bed. Any suggestions or links?

Might be able to use a Cable Bike Lock

About all you can do it put a thick cable through it and invest in a good lock. Most locks can be defeated in well under a minute. Check out high security locks. Or just leave it at home unless traveling or wheeling offroad.

If someone is bent on stealing it & a professional, not much your gonna do. As a retired LEO, I have seen a professional steal a vehicle with 3 different safeguards and a battery shutoff switch, in under a minute.

The key is to make it undesirable and time consuming and noisy to steal. Cameras help and so do bright lights. Then they will probably move on to an easier target.
But the first rule is: out of sight, out of mind.

When the kids were young and we went camping, we had 4 mtbs and each one was expensive. So I bought a 15' coated security cable and a good high security lock. Also bought a $10 motion alarm from HF. It worked. It went off 1 night and I opened the door to see 2 people running away.

I do not know how the spare is attached to the rack, but my first instinct would be to look at Jeep accessories. Spare is on the rear door and there were tons of options. If it attaches via a lug nut(s), I would get a matching locking nut to match the rest of the truck

Xcanuk....my hope also is a lug to add a lock to, yet from what I can see in vids it appears to not have lugs to add a lug nut lock on it. Worried a cable may look odd and an easy cut to remove versus a lug lock.

That looks very close to what I had on my jeep for the spare. Basically an oversized T that bolted through the center. According to my notes, I got one made by smittybilt which added a hole for a padlock that stopped the T from spinning. (simple actually) Had a similar set up when I installed a bike rack on my spare on my 4runner.
Depending on what is behind, you can probably add a plate with Lugs and use a Lug nut. I hate cables as well and like to keep things neat.

Here is the install Video of it
Will give you some ideas of what goes into it:

Some bike locks are actually very hard to cut through, even with power tools. The material will destroy and dull sawzall blades and cutoff wheels very quickly.

Some brands, like Kryptonite, will even provide a guarrantee that could cover the replacement cost of your spare if it gets stolen via a cut lock.

Like Red said, If some one wants it bad enough, there is nothing you can do about it.
Doesn't matter if you have a $5 lock on it or a $500 lock on it, they have the technology to make it disappear!

You need to outsmart them, like some one mentioned above, get a small, hardly noticeable (fake) security camera and put a decal next to it that says "SMILE, your picture was just sent to my phone" or better yet put a decal next to the tire that says " I dare you to steal my wheel" and leave a bunch of empty rifle cartridges and a couple targets with all bullseyes on them in the bed of the truck! 😁

Is it possible to relocate back to under the truck if you air down the tire?
I think you can stuff a 35" tire (Bison is 34.4") under the truck, may need to do some trimming on the heat shield and you may be very close to the tail pipe.

Got your Bison yet? I just picked one up last week. Ran a cable lock through wheel and the carrier frame as a deterrent and to weed out the lazy thiefs. Cable lock is all black and coated with vinyl, mostly all tucked behind the tire, barely notice it is there. Will watch where I park for sure.
