Please cite your evidence. Based off the forum posting it looks like this is a equal opportunity for vehicles to be delayed.

Everyone who has ordered a vehicle should put their order and status history in their signature line so we could see a pattern. Putting the location of the dealer will also help figure transit times.

A spray in liner company can install more liners in a a day then GM can produce trucks, So I don't believe this to be even slightly true.
If the Wentzville plant is anything like the Arlington, TX plant, there is one truck rolling off the line every 56 seconds. It takes at least 3 hours to do a spray in liner on one truck. Im surprised GM hasnt integrated spray in liners into the assembly line. It would be a lot quicker of an "install".

We heard they were not going to over-build and flood the market, then we heard they are adding another shift early in 2015. But, this early in the life of the truck, there has to be some hiccups in production. I take it as a sign they want the trucks to be right when they reach customers' hands. If it is true that the spray-in liners are one reason for delivery delays, I will take it off my list of options and get it done locally, if the price is right.

Based on a 2 shift setup, you are saying 1000 trucks come off the line per day, if that was the case we all would NOT be waiting.
Im not waiting. Bought mine off the lot and had the dealer install the spray in liner.

The assembly is not the holdup, its QC and transportation.

If the Ground Effects plant is not available now as they only got the permit to construct 13 days ago, where is the Wentzville assembly plant sending the trucks to be sprayed?

No manufacturer seems to be spraying them in factory. Ground Effects is in the news building facilities near other GM , Ford and Chrysler Pickup Assembly plants (Fort Wayne Ind for GM as an example.)

How this affects delivery issues for everyone? It seems plausible that transporters (trucks or trains?) are being used to move sprayed trucks back and forth to the mystery spray location, these transporters are not available to move non- sprayed trucks to dealers.

Perhaps GM was not ready for the popularity of the spray in bed liner by dealer and customer special orders and are falling behind. This may be why the ARI Fleet delivery forecast is up to 10 to 12 weeks.

GM should be more open about this issue, I would not be thrilled but it is what it is.

I also don't think so many folks have ordered vehicles till recently. They've usually bought what was available on the lot. At the moment GM is trying to put stock on lots and fill orders at the same time. That's a heavy load. And who's saying there's a delay other than us on this forum? GM has never mentioned there being hold ups have they? For all we know they may be right in line with where they wanna be. I am guessing there's no one on this forum who doesn't have a vested interest and therefore we hang on every thread or rumor of delays as if it's the gospel.Folks gripe cause their vehicle shows it was built two weeks ago and is sitting on a lot in Wentzville. Okay......how do we know this isn't normal? We work ourselves into a Frenzy cause some guy knows a guy who's brother knows the Sales Manager at ABC Chevrolet who says they are sitting in a rail yard. No one's ever been able to tell us when a vehicle was being built. Maybe they should be able to with today's technology but there was no contract saying they must keep us apprised of every move. My advice is to take a chill pill.

Fwiw,
Order placed 9/30 with dealer (zip 21043) and submitted to GM:
CC SB LT 4x4 Green, luxury pkg, convenience pkg, tow pkg, Bose/Nav,
Spray-in bedliner;

Status (I usually check once a week with GM and/or dealer):
9/30-10/24 = 1100
10/25-10/30 = ???
10/31-<11/7 = 3000
11/7- 11/?? = 3100
Current status = I requested 11/21, no reply from GM Customer Service;
dealer checked and said 3100 but no explanation for delay in production.

Coincidentally, found a similar model with almost same options except
spray-in bedliner located at a dealer 40 miles away. My dealer tried
to get it but it was on hold awaiting a customer to look at it the next
day - customer bought it.

Also of passing interest, while searching for similar vehicles using zip codes, I found a boatload of green Colorados located in

- wait for it -

Wisconsin!

In regardz to 1000 trucks per day off the line. Remember this line also produces the vans so they may have some commitments there as well. This truck is new for the plant. The Arlington plant is a mature plant but I bet they slowed down when they converted over to the new model.

In the last 7 days they have built approximately 550 Colorado and 315 Canyons
DaShox where did you get this information?
Is Wentzville also still producing Vans in addition to the Twins?

Is there a closer Ground Effects spray facility to Wentzville than Kansas City,? KS also seems to be served by Norfolk Southern.

Well done DaShox. May I ask where you got the info? I looked but couldn't find it.
I check cars.com every day - they have a filter where you can see how many trucks are showing up 1 Day, 3 Days, 7 Days, last 2 weeks, last Month.

This is probably not perfect, but it gives you pretty good idea of what the flow is.

I have noticed some vehicles show up at local dealers who are not on cars.com, but most seem to. It also looks like they show up when they are shipped out (or at least before they arrive)- as there is a pretty good delay of when they will actually show up at the dealer lot.

You can also filter to get a breakdown of by Trim, engines, colors, etc.
