2015 GMC Canyon, 4wd, 6cyl, 82.000 miles

AC compressor makes a bad grinding noise. The clutch on the compressor has a very obvious wobble. Estimates from two reputable shops to replace the compressor is $1200 -$1500. If metal flakes are found during the replacement, a system flush is required at a cost of $2200 - $2500.
Does this sound correct and reasonable? Has anyone had this done? What was your cost?

That sounds normal to me. No experience myself but reading on other forums that’s typically close to the cost.
