If you had it to do all over again. Knowing what you know now about your truck. Would you buy again or go with something else.
I did the battery disconnect, wait (15 min), re-connect. No joy.I've read that either a soft reset ( hang up button 10seconds ) or hsrd reset ( neg battery terminal dosconnect 10min) seems to cure a multitude of menu hang ups. Slightly easier than heading to a dealer, which would be the 3rd option in my book.
In a HEARTBEAT!If you had it to do all over again. Knowing what you know now about your truck. Would you buy again or go with something else?
Not really. I'm 6'1", but I am older and find it hard to get in and out of compared to my previous 1/2 ton. But more than that, it's just a lack of space for storage in the cab, and the back seat is pretty much a waste of space unless you are taking really small kids along for the ride. I just really miss the room I had in my Ram.Are you exceptionally tall or just a really big guy?
do you put adults in the backseats? I just put groceries and adults for short trips. Because if there is no one sitting behind you, you could move the driver seat all the way back which should give you a huge front seat area. But I hope you get the vehicle that you want and fits you best next time. Not really. I'm 6'1", but I am older and find it hard to get in and out of compared to my previous 1/2 ton. I can understand, at 6'2" my seat is all the way back, no one is getting behind me, my wife has a similar seating position, but she can move forward if needed.do you put adults in the backseats? The 2000 was evaluated and I got the buy back offer.your 2000 Taco's frame did not rust and break in 2 , or you sold it before it could?
I was cleaning the mud from on top of the front skid plate and my screw driver went right through the frame on my 2001.Frame rust started in 1996 and went through 2006ish..
they replaced the frame, Dealer had done so many they replaced the frame in less than a day.
Frontier is a solid truck stuck in the 2010's though, a guy in my hood has a nice looking one, lifted 2 inches with a little larger tires on oem wheels
I was hoping GM would keep the V6 around a couple of years when my son bought his 2022 AT4 Canyon. I rather like that simple engine. Ultimately, I'm worried about the longevity of the turbo in Alaska's 6 months of cold weather -- year after year.Yes. I outlined all the things I like about the Colorado compared to my 2002 S10:
But I lament the fact that we are all shoe-horned into basically the same kind of truck with minimal options. Here's where we voted for what options we would select if offered:
I would still choose the Colorado, although I prefer the Nissan V6-NA powertrain....unfortunately for Nissan, the rest of their truck is inferior. I'm warming up to the Colorado I4-Turbo and can make it work. The Colorado is an excellent truck, and I am looking forward to many more miles and years; currently at 7 months and 3.8k miles....
2022? Probably a 2023 since GMC Canyon didn't have a AT4X version in 2022. Unless you have a 2022 GMC Sierra AT4X 1500?I have a 22 ATX4 and I would definitely try other brands I think. Mine has been back to two different dealers for transmission issues and so far it is still the same. Pretty sad for a vehicle that only has 34k miles on it. That is not to mention the infotainment center that inadvertently shuts down occasionally. I have had Tacomas in the past and they were rock solid so this is one I would look at. Buddy of mine just bought a Pro4X Frontier and it is nice too but still to new to pass judgement on. Don't get me wrong, I love the looks of my truck (desert sand with black wheels and accents) and love the way it drives, but at this point I am concerned about long term survivability.
When I was originally in the market for a mid-sized truck, I was super excited to hear rumors about the comeback of the Dakota. At the time, I was in my Ram 1500 (5.7L Hemi), but I needed to quickly jump on purchasing a new truck as my Ram was not going to be in my possession much longer. I really had high hopes for the Dakota's but I was hit with disappointment when I read they were pushing the delivery timeline to 2026/2027. I personally wouldn't hold your breathe on the Dakota's being the most epic mid sized truck to ever hit the market. If anyone knows how to screw up a vehicle, it's Stellantis. But I am totally excited about Ram bringing back the Hemi! I know for sure my neighbors don't miss my Hemi with a Carven exhaust at 6:30 AM.Knowing that RAM is coming back with better engines again....maybe I would have waited. But I LOVE MY TRUCK!!!!!!!
I'm just hoping the new "Dakota" comes out swinging hard....they are way behind at the moment.
Sorry, that is my bad, been a long day. It is a 2022 Canyon AT4, not an X. Thanks for pointing that out!2022? Probably a 2023 since GMC Canyon didn't have a AT4X version in 2022. Unless you have a 2022 GMC Sierra AT4X 1500?
I do miss my Ram(s), all of them were great! My 2016 Ram Laramie 4x4 Hemi with Flowmaster "American Thunder" exhaust....was untouchable. Definitely not holding my breath over Dakotas either, but if Stell can get their heads out of their southpole holes and allow the previous heads and designers to do their jobs...there is hope Ram will be top again. Love my Colorado, and I plan on holding onto it for awhile. When I am ready for a new vehicle, I will most likely go back to a Ram 1500.
RAM Dakota with a hemi v8! does Tim the Toolman Taylor grunts😎🤙I do miss my Ram(s), all of them were great! My 2016 Ram Laramie 4x4 Hemi with Flowmaster "American Thunder" exhaust....was untouchable. Yeah … I had a ‘97 Dakota extended cab 4x4 with the 318. That really needed headers, because instead of roaring when you floored it, it would swoosh. Made you not want to step on it… but I did anyway. Traded that for a 2000 Dakota regular cab short bed 4x2 with the newer 4.7 V8. Wasn’t a hemi, but that truck was fun. When I traded that in, the guy doing the test drive asked me how I kept tires on it. One time I maxed the speed limiter on it at 120 chasing a buddy to work, then had the adrenaline shakes for half a day. I miss that, but I’d probably be dead if I’d kept it.I do miss my Ram(s), all of them were great! My 2016 Ram Laramie 4x4 Hemi with Flowmaster "American Thunder" exhaust....was untouchable.
