Wiper motor?

 

Could be the Switch itself is acting up

 

My 05 had a like issue. It ended up being a burn mark on the rotating contact in the motor itself. I took it apart and cleaned the brass rotating contact and all was well for many years. I have no idea if you can get the second gens apart or not. There is a write up on 355nation for the first gen.

Thank you everyone. I've been reading up on this and tried a few things. First I checked if the wiper operated on the slow and fast speeds, which both work. Only the intermittent serting doesn't work. When I use the washer fluid the wipers don't work either.
One suggestion I found was to disconnect the battery until the system drains itself completely and plug the battery in again. The idea is to reset the ecm. This didn't help at all. I checked the relays and fuses, all are good.
Next step is to check the motor. I will let you all know what happens.

 

I thought the BCM controlled the wipers.

I have an update on this issue. I replaced the motor and the issue did not go away. I've checked all the relays and fuses for the wipers and all are good, unplugged the battery to let the system drain and reset itself, and replaced the wiper motor. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

 

That leaves the BCM or switch arm. I would lean towards the BCM which is under driver side dash by steering column.

 

Switch would be something that is making Contact and sending a signal
Yes, the BCM controls... But if the BCM was the issue... Only thing the BCM is having an issue with is the Wipers ... Very Unlikely that it is not creating issues with other items

 

A correct scanner may help you see the signal if it’s working correctly it’s amazing what you can see on these newer vehicles ti help diagnose issues.

 

I'd say your switch is funked up somehow.

 

On occasions certain vehicles I have had on real cold days and turn the wheel the wipers would turn on and off Only on real cold days.

 

Hello everyone,
The problem has been fixed. The problem was caused by squirrels that chewed through 4 of the five wires going to the wiper motor. I replaced the damaged wires and the wipers work perfectly now.
