What's up guys I've been in the market for a 2024 Chevrolet Colorado or GMC Canyon as I've just sold my Camaro. I'm in no particular rush as I have a '13 Audi Q7 to drive for free until mid October. That's when I plan on purchasing a Colorado or Canyon. I'm still undecided on the following trucks:
Build 1: 2024 Chevrolet Colorado Z71
Build 2: 2024 Chevrolet Colorado LT RWD
Build 3: 2024 GMC Canyon Elevation RWD
The Z71 is the best looking by far in my opinion. I do not need 4WD and I would appreciate the marginally better MPG of the RWD LT... but for the difference in price the Z71 seems like a great buy, and 4WD is always great for resale value.
The LT with Convenience Package III is the only one of these builds with leather. I don't necessarily want leather however I won't buy one of these trucks without LED lighting so Convenience Package III is a must, the issue is that brings the price so close to the Z71 and makes it cost more than the Elevation.
As far as the Canyon Elevation goes, this is an interesting one. It's the cheapest of the bunch and has the factory "lift" and "ultra-wide stance" like a Trail Boss would. Despite being the cheapest, and being cloth, I think the dash design on the GMC looks the most premium. I definitely prefer the looks of the Colorado over the Canyon, but given the spec and the price, it'd be hard to not consider the Canyon.
So far I've test driven a Colorado Z71 on 20s, a Colorado LT on 18s, and a Canyon AT4. The Colorado LT on 18s just drove so damn nice. It felt much smoother on road than the Z71 on 20s, which wasn't "bad" by any means. I think regardless of the truck I end up with I'd like to stick with the 18inch wheel options.
Out of these three builds, which do you guys like the most? Should I go for the Canyon over the LT? Should I not even consider the LT given how close it is in price to the Z71?
I have not gotten true pricing on the Canyon yet, but I have on the LT and the Z71 which I'll share below:
Colorado Z71 w Convenience Package II:
MSRP: $45,830
Discount: - $5,000
Adjusted Price: $40,830
Tag Title & Filing: $905
Dealer Fee: $995
Taxes: $2,533.80
GM Rebate: - $500 (Healthcare Professional)
OTD $44,763.80 (this was over email, haven't even negotiated)
Colorado LT RWD w Convenience Package III

Adjusted Price: $39,235

GM Rebate: - $500 (Healthcare Professional)

Seems the Z71 is the better buy, considering I didn't even start negotiations with them. So I guess what this post is about is what do you guys think of these three trucks? What are people paying for these trucks? & Do we think pricing will be better come October?
