Has anybody tried, uses one of these?

example

I have several 12 volt items that have the 12vot aux end, cigarette lighter , my 2024 truck has all USB ports.

on 2nd gen we could make the aux outlet hot with the truck off, the 54 to 55 fuse

There should be a cigarette lighter socket at the bottom front of your center console, underneath that removable tray.

Thanks
I knew that, I just forgot 😉 now I just need to find an extension for it, I have one some where in the house
...my 2017 had a usb port there.. and a cigarette socket on back side of console that I made hot all the time.

The lack of 12v outlets in this truck is one of the most frustrating things about it. Why the F isn't there one beside the usb outlet above the wireless charging pad. Tons of room for it. Its a great truck but damn did they pinch some pennies when building it.

Because everyone bitched there weren't enough usb ports. I hate it too but most people prefer having the ports because its 2025. I like the 12v option because I can use a true high speed charger.

I used the 12V behind the console on my Gen2 more. I actually had a splitter connected to it which powered my gps / interior well lights / map light. Made wiring a breeze to hide and reversible. Hated the sight of wires coming out of the console or from the front.
Lack of 12V bugged me at the start, but anything new is usb powered. If it bugs me later, might install one behind the console, the rear panel just pops off.

Ford did it right with the Bronco, as I remember you can get power at the top of the dash, and even a rack (pic-rail I think) to mount GoPro's and such. Cars/trucks should have at least an option for a bunch of extra power ports in varying amperage and sizes. It's the digital age, and especially in a truck, people want to run a GoPro, a tablet for onX, chargers for walkie-talkies (I just bought a pair of Midlands), stuff like that, in addition to charging phones for BOTH front seat passengers.

For anyone else considering a USB to 12v adapter, don't bother. Most vehicle USB ports put out 1-2A at 5v. That's only 5-10w of power not including any power consumed by the adapter. So while it'll put out 12v it will give less than 1A of current, max.

I found my extension -splitter, the outlet is not powered with out the truck being On

when I get some time I am going to look at the schematic and see if it has the 54 to 55 option of keeping it hot

I put a tote in the back seat with an O-Zone machine running during hunting season. and other times just to kill the funk

I have not seen anyone posting an always hot option for the 12V, for that matter, not too many posts about the 12V on Gen3. If it was me, I would just wire with a fuse tap and install one behind. Easy to tuck the wire along the bottom of the console to the rear, and since the rear panel just pops off, it should be a 1-2-3 install.
The only 12V accessory I have left is my emergency rotating light that I need on a few job sites, might make more sence for me to put a 12V in the bed.
