trans pan torque specs

by chance, is it the same procedure for the 8l45 where you fill it and start and check the level at 93-118 temp with the weep hole open and stop it when it trickles? or do you just fill roughly 7.5qts?
The sh*tty service manual that I downloaded is missing the drain and fill procedure, but I am guessing it's like most modern transmissions and wants to do the multi-step warm ups and all of that nonsense.
Personally, I'd drain it warm, fill it. Crank, let it warm up, and then run it through the gears with wheels off the ground. Check levels, top off if needed, cycle it again with no load, and then go ahead and drive it gently for a 100 miles before resuming normal towing, flooring, etc.

I can't imagine these things being setup with all of the song and dance at the assembly plants. I'd bet they load in the cold engine and tranny, fill it with gas, and drive it off the line.
