Supertech is made by champion labs, the same dudes that make Mobil 1 oil filters.
you can take a mobil 1 filter and a supertech side by side and there is no difference but the sticker.
best oil filter for our trucks is the Purolator pureone filter... gold box at advance auto.

good to know, thats what I've been using(puralator pure one filter). with mobile 1(12 bucks for the filter, 38 for 5L of oil is what its costing me roughly)

 

i pay 16 dollars for 5 qts of syn oil at wal-mart.2 something for supertech filter.yes,wix/purla are great filters but we tested with QUALITY/COST as coming up with the SUPERTECH.
rotella 5w-40 was best price actually on syn oil for QUALITY but i went with supertech syn oil as it was cheaper and i always change it at 6,000 miles.

 

our filters are sold at advance auto parts for $6.49 all day long... they have 450+ cubic inches of filtering media in them

supertech and mobil 1 filters are sold for 2-3 and 8-13 dollars respectively, they have 290-320 cubic inches of filtering mass in them.

plus purolator has the easily grippable sides...
supertech oil is made by pennzoil/quaker state... while mobil 1 is made by mobil 1...

so i guess the best bet would be to buy your filter at advance and get your oil at walmart, because walmart sells oil for dirt cheap.

i actually swear by napa gold filters and shell rotella T DIESEL synthetic just as many other people do

tons of zinc in the diesel motor oil since it isnt regulated as much as gas engine oil is

no, fram filters are FINE .just buy the better ones.cheap basic one is junk,ones over 5 dollars are fine.bigger holes in your filter, better it is.we tested it on our hondas and on my john deere,bigger holes were better.

supertech/ac for price is what i use.puralotor/wix are good too but more expensive.

 

Don't cheap out on an oil filter... what are you really saving by spending $2 on an oil filter? on avg i spend between $6-10 a week just washing my truck. so spending $8 on an oil filter to me is chump change. Its your engine take care of it and at least buy wix/delco filter (or better) and don't ever buy a fram.

 

i was very happy to see the oil filter up/down not sideways.this allows you to fill your oil filter with oil and screw it on.great idea and could save some wear on engine.i really like the AC oil filters.they have 6 big holes.this allows oil when cold to flow better.not many filters have big holes.supertech at wal-mart is another good one with big holes.

we tested the oil filters on our motorcycles and found that ones with the big holes seemed to let oil flow better when warming up engines.on your lawnmowers i use supertech because it has BIG HOLES and ac filters .on small engines you will notice the small hole filters as your mower will tick and will not with BIG HOLE filters.it does improve flow of oil and when cold it really helps.i was very happy to see the oil filter on colorados way they are,easy to get at,oil hits pan and not all over frame,oil drain plug 13 metric is easy to remove and truck is high enough off ground i did not need a jack.on my silverado i could not do that. 8)

There are alot more factors which determines what makes a good filter than just the size of the holes.

Particularly - the bypass valve, the filter element, element support, element construction, element surface area, can thickness, can construction, can seal, and LOTS more.

 

true.that is why i said to get the SUPERTECH/AC.we tested just what you mentioned.here is our site.look under TECH section .I THINK THE OIL FILTER TESTS ARE STILL THERE.
