Resistors needed for LED backup lights?

I see that resistors are needed when swapping out any light with a "blinking" feature to LED. I am wanting to swap only my backup lights over to a Diode Dynamics set for a little more light when in reverse.

Has anyone successfully done so and do I need to purchase resistors for these as well? Thanks!

It depends on the bulb. In my 3rd gen I was able to use some morimoto bulbs that have the resistor built in because they didn't require any resistor.

Replaced my backup lights in my 2nd gen with diode dynamics LED, no issues. Took the same LEDs and put in my 3rd gen, again no issues. Buy Diode Dynamics and no extras needed.

Resistors are for turn signals and brakes. Reverse lights are constant on, so no resistors needed.

I installed Diode Dynamics, then ended up cutting flush mounts into the bumper for SS3 Sports to give me adequate light in the midnight winters of AK.
