So I have a 2020 4x4 LT with a non locking rear diff. Is the locking diff called limited slip? I want to do a swap so I can have better traction off-road. Any and all info helps!! Especially part numbers!
Mine did not have the tow package or locking diff. I have installed the tow package myself but would probably have the diff done at a shop depending on difficulty. The part you linked, is that a g80 locker?check your build sheet to see if it has G80 on it, it is an option on the LT's
the G80 is an auto locking rear diff, it came with the tow package or could have been ordered sepperatly.
it is better then a limited slip

are you going to do this your self or have it done?
The pinion gear wouldn't need to be touched. The ring gear would need to be swapped and a new set of diff bearings. Then it's just a matter of checking the backlash on the ring gear and setting the side to side shims(if shims are even used in this rear end, it might have some kind of threaded nut type preload setup or something). But in others words, it shouldn't be as much as doing a gear swap to a different ratio.
